All four of you had been tangled up in the couch for the last hour and a half, the large throw tossed over you as a Disney movie played on the television infront of you. As the credits rolled and the last song began to play, you gently nudged Valentina. She yawn and looked up from her spot while she clung to your arm. "Hey sweet girl, it's time for bed." She nodded and got up, padding to her room.
You put a gentle hand on Robert's shoulder,shaking him light. "Babe." He hummed in reply without opening his eyes. "Babe, Can you go put Alessandro to bed? I'll clean up down here and meet you in bed."
Robert made a small noise of agreement and opened his eyes. He slid his arm under your little boy's legs and moved the arm that was supporting his back to support his neck instead. You smiled softly at the sight of your husband shuffled away.
You spend a couple more minutes downstairs, folding the blanket, cleaning up cups and popcorn bowls, and turning out lights before you join everyone upstairs.
You quickly peeked into Valentina's room,seeing that she hadn't even put pajamas on before she had fallen asleep, curled up with her comforter only halfway on her. You softly laughed as you shut the door again.
You stopped to Alessandro's room too, seeing Robert still in there. You prop yourself againts the door frame and listen to the two boys' conversation.
"Dad, what if there's monsters under my bed?" Alessandro asks as his big doe eyes looking directly at his father.
"Nothing can hurt you here, bud" Robert's replies, running a hand through Alessandro's hair.
"Can you still check?" He pleaded. Robert let out a soft snort before nodding. He leaned down next to the bed and pretended to look around a bit before propping back up.
"Monster, demon and creepy crawl-y free, but." He pulled a small stuffed bear from under the bed. "Maybe, sir snuffles could protect you if i miss anything"
Alessandro immediately engulfed the bear in a hug before curling up."Thank you Daddy."
"You're welcome. Now get some rest if you wanna see uncle Ale tommorow" Robert laughed as Alessandro immediately closed his eyes, hating the idea of missing his favorite uncle. "Night kid" he turned out the light and turned around nearly jumping when he noticed you in the doorway.
"He really is a daddy's boy isn't he?" You cooed, shuting Alessandro's door behind the two of you. You both walked into the room across from Alessandro's and started to prepare for bed.
"I think he gets it from his mom" Robert joked as he slid of his shirt and pants. You took the shirt from him and put it on instead, opting to sleep in that rather than just bra and underwear.
"You think so, huh?" You smiled slipping under the covers. He followed suit, wrapping his arms around your waist. "Then do i get to ask if there's monsters under the bed?"
"If there were any monsters here, I'll be always here to protect you." Robert pressed a kiss to your forehead before you pressed you head against chest, the sound of his heart lulling you to sleep.
