Maddison's POV

I took a deep breath and pushed my hair back.

Why am I so nervous?

Jason's POV

I laid in the top bunk of the stone bed and couldn't help but let a small smile form on my face.

As I stared at the dark ceiling above me, I couldn't help but picture Madison's face in my head.

I had it memorized, I could see it clearly, as if it were burned to my head.

Im so happy i got to see her, even thought it was through a screen.

I closed my eyes and shifted to my side, hoping that if I tried hard enough I'd get to see more of her in my dreams.

———

The lights went on at 6 am sharp. Usually i wouldn't mind waking up this early, but I barely get sleep here.

I jumped off the bed and reached the floor.

"McCann. Hold up." Dave called as he tried to catch up with me.

I was in a good mood today. I guess Madison's effect on me hasn't washed out from yesterday. I stopped walking and waited for him.

We made it to the cafeteria and got in line for breakfast.

As I tried to see what we were having today I felt a shadow over me.

"Are you lost?" I snapped at the guy standing in front of me. He seemed angry, which is understandable if you are in this piece of shit hell hole.

"You Jason McCann?" He asked.

"Who's asking?" I asked. My lawyer had advised me not to go by my name, it's part of his case or something. So I am suppose to deny my identity. However, there are still many rumors about me.

"Skull." He said.

I tried to control my face muscles from making a facial expression that might get me in trouble. But who the fuck goes by the name of skull?

I needed to laugh. But I just looked at him confused.

"Meet him after lunch in the presentation room." He said before leaving.

"Good luck." Dave said. I had forgotten he was here.

"Who the fuck is skull?" I asked as I stepped to the front to grab my plate.

"He basically runs this place. He probably heard about you and feels threatened that you'll take his place." He explained.

I chuckled and shook my head.

"I'd be careful with him man. He's dangerous."

Fucking pathetic.

I sat down with Dave and the rest of the guys, like usual, but this time I tried to interact with them. If I'm going to be spending the rest of my life here I might as well learn about the people in it.
