You were best friends with Parker.

You were a gaming Youtuber as well.

He often invited you onto his gaming channel.

That’s what you were doing right now.

You were filming a video with Parker and H on Mineplex.

You were winning.

“Haha, eat it, boys!” you laughed into your headset.

“Oh, come on! Don’t rub it in, Y/N!” H whined.

“You’re probably cheating,” Parker grumbled.

“Don’t be a sore loser,” you told them.

They continued their shouting over the microphones.

You were about to reply with a few of your own comebacks.

But you were interrupted by a phone call.

You paused the game.

“Excuse me for a second, guys,” you said.

You answered the unknown number, leaving your headset on.

“Hello?” you answered.

“Is this Miss Y/N Y/L/N?” you heard.

“Yes. May i ask who’s calling?” you replied.

“This is Dr. Walters from [Insert Hospital Name Here],” he said.

“You’re my grandmother’s doctor,” you remembered.

Your grandmother had serious oral cancer. Unfortunately, it was a rare form of cancer, so there was no cure.

However, the doctors decided that chemotherapy could slow it down. And maybe, if she was lucky, cure her cancer.

“Yes. I’m afraid I have some bad news,” he said.

Your breath caught in your throat.

You were scared.

“Please don’t say what I think you’re about to say. Please let it be a money issue. Oh God, please,” you begged over the phone.

“I’m so sorry, Miss Y/L/N. Your grandmother passed away a few minutes ago. We did everything we could. I am so sorry,” Dr. Walters told you.

“No. No. She can’t be dead,” you sobbed into your phone.

“I apologize for your loss,” he said, hanging up.

You tossed your phone across the room, crying loudly.

“Y/N?” you heard H whisper.

“I’m sorry. I can’t do this right now,” you said, about to shut off your headset.

“Y/N, wait. Talk to me please,” H said.

“Okay,” you agreed, still crying heavily.

“Parker, are you still there?” H asked.

There was only silence on Parker’s end.

You felt a pang of hurt.

Parker was supposed to be your best friend and he had hung up on you.

You and H continued your conversation over TeamSpeak.

You heard the beeping from his end of the line.

“My headphones are crashing,” H groaned.

“It’s okay, H. I’ll call you tomorrow,” you said.

“Are you sure?” he asked, worried.

“Yeah. I need some time anyway,” you assured him.

He hung up and you were alone.

You laid down on your bed, crying into your pillow.

You felt arms around you and you screamed.

“Y/N, it’s just me,” you heard.

You looked up to see Parker.

“How did you get in?” you asked.

“I, uh, know where you stash your spare,” he said.

He hugged you to him.

“I have to tell my subscribers,” you said, sitting up.

“I’m right here,” he said.

He sat you in his lap and helped you film your heartbreaking video, letting you sob into his shirt whenever you needed.

Later, you were sniffling as you tried to edit the video.

Your eyes were blurry from tears and your hands were trembling.

Parker was watching you from across the room.

He eventually got tired and sat you on his lap, editing the video for you.

“Thank you. For everything,” you whispered.

“I love you, Y/N,” he admitted, “I’d do anything for you.”

“I love you, too,” you said, laying your head on his shoulder.

His lips brushed your forehead.

“Rest In Peace, Grandmother.”
