You were a slayer.

You had the best boyfriend ever.

He understood what you did and he respected it.

He even helped you with research.

You loved him.

It was truly a miracle that you had met him.

You were just beginning to believe that you couldn’t be loved.

You were currently on a patrol, walking through the cemetery.

You spotted a figure in the distance.

It was leaning over a body.

You pulled your stake out and raised it.

The figure turned and you gasped.

It was your boyfriend Angel, with his mouth covered in blood.

It suddenly struck you how he only came out at night, seemed iffy when you got hurt, when he would disappear for days on end.

You boyfriend was a vampire.

Angel transformed and grabbed you by your shoulders, picking you up off the ground.

“Angel, no!” you cried.

Angel threw you into a freshly dug grave.

Something pierced your side and you realized you had fallen on your stake.

You pulled it out and held your wound.

You climbed out and looked at Angel as he transformed back.

He cocked his head to side when he smelled your blood.

He looked down at your wound and guilt crossed his eyes.

“Y/N,” he said, taking a step towards you.

You took off as fast as you could.

You went home.

You just stood there for a while before getting into the shower.

You washed off the blood and cried silently, the water disguising your tears.

You got dressed in pajamas.

You went to work on your wound, but it was hard doing it yourself.

You felt cold hands take the supplies and begin to help.

“Stop,” you said, already knowing it was Angel.

“It was my fault,” he replied.

“It doesn’t matter,” you muttered.

“It does. I love you. And i hurt you,” he said, hanging his head.

He hadn’t ever admitted he loved you before.

You took his face in your hands and pressed your lips to his.

“Everyone makes mistakes. And I love you, too. Nothing will ever change that,” you promised.

Angel finished patching up your wound.

He kissed you softly.

“What can I do to take the pain away?” he asked.

“Just hold me,” you whispered.

The night was spent in each other’s arms.
