You put on your apon to start taking orders.

Your eyes wandered to the always empty table in the corner.

No one had sat at it for two years.

The last man who did had disappeared.

You closed your eyes, remembering him.

He had brown eyes and slicked back hair.

Every day, he’d be at his table, waiting for you with a smile.

He always flirted with you.

And while you liked to be professional, with him, you just couldn’t help flirting back.

You opened your eyes and snapped back to reality.

You went to your first table, taking the orders of an elderly couple.

You put the order in with the chef before stepping to the back for a quick cigarette to get focused.

You remembered your last night with Jim Moriarty.

He had convinced you to go to dinner with him.

Then, he had taken you to his home.

He placed a sweet kiss to your lips, which led to a heavy night.

When you had woken up that morning, the bed was empty and only a note remained.

See You Later, Y/N.

You didn’t know why you couldn’t get the man off your mind.

You never heard from him or saw him again.

He wasn’t worth your time.

You went back to work and did as many jobs as you could to keep your mind busy.

When you got off, you grabbed your purse and walked out quickly.

It was late and you didn’t want to get hurt.

As you passed an alleyway, two strong arms grabbed you, pulling you in. A hand was wrapped around your mouth before you could scream. You felt something sharp be put to your back before you were thrown to the ground.

“Give me your purse and any valuables,” a man snarled, holding up a clean silver pocket knife.

Tears from fear slipped down your cheeks as you held out your purse for him to take.

The man raised the knife and you closed your eyes, fearing the worse.

You heard a scuffle, so you opened them. You watched the mugger be fought by someone, who eventually smashed the mugger to the ground and shot him.

Your savior handed back your purse and you stood.

“Thank you so much,” you said.

The man stepped closer to you and you realized it was Jim Moriarty.

He grinned at you and held his arms out for a hug. You happily complied and hugged him tight.

You felt him kiss your cheek and nuzzle your neck.

“Did you miss me?”
