Mr. Diamant gives me an irritated look when I come to class way too late. I deliberately stayed longer, I didn't want to run into Emma and Tara in the hallway. "Do you have a note, Juul?" I shake my head. Mr. Diamant sighs deeply. "Okay, come and see me after class." He points to a spot next to an unknown girl. "Sit next to Dianne, Mrs Malik." Who is Dianne again? I'll sit in the designated spot, so at least I won't be alone. "Hi." I say, how shy. "Hi, I'm Dianne Stone." She smiles. "Is your real name Malik?" she asks. I nod. "Then your name is the same as Zayn from One Direction! Are you related or something?"

"Ha, if she wants to." Answer Emma for me, who apparently heard the question. "No, Juul is really a nobody and Zayn." Tara sighs. "Zayn really is that handsome! And perfect!" I smile. So this is how some girls feel about my brother. "What are you laughing at now?" Emma asks catily. I shake my head and quickly grab my pants. "Nothing."

"Are they always this mean?" Suddenly I hear next to me. I look at Dianne. Did she really say that? "Why do you look so surprised?" asks Dianne. "You're the first to notice... nobody says anything about it." Dianne raises her eyebrows. "Are you serious? What about the teachers?" I shake my head. "They are very nice to the teachers." I answer softly. "Pff, hypocritical bitches." I like Dianne already. Maybe this lesson will work after all.

After class I have to go to Mr. Diamant. "What have you got now?" Dianne asks as I pack my books. "English from Mrs. Johnson, my mentor, but I have to go to Mr. Diamant first." I answer. "Oh okay, I've got economics... shall I wait?" I shake my head. "Don't, go. Otherwise you'll be late." I smile. "Okay, I'll see you later." Dianne smiles back and then walks out of the room. I walk a little nervously towards Mr. Diamant. "Sorry I was late." I start. "That's not all." Mr. Diamond says a little worried. "I've noticed that your math grades have been going down a bit lately. I went to Ms. Johnson to see if you might also have trouble with similar subjects, such as economics." He stops talking for a moment and thinks. "She said you went down all the boxes... and now you're already ten minutes late." I shrug my shoulders as casually as possible. "Is something wrong? You used to do your best in school." What should I say to this? Emma and Tara are making my life miserable? I don't have any friends, thanks in part to them? That never. "I just don't feel like going to school anymore. I have better things to do." I'll answer. "Anything else?" The tone in my voice is cold, without emotion. What should I say to this? Emma and Tara are making my life miserable? Another tone like that and you're in detention!" Warns Mr. Diamant. "All right, see you then." I walk towards the exit. I can still hear Mr. Diamant calling my name, but I don't respond.
