I quietly cycle to school, thinking about yesterday. After I threw my phone away yesterday, Mom came upstairs. She had heard the blow.

I just lied that I accidentally knocked him off my bedside table while dancing the songs. Another lie on top.

Zayn had stayed overnight with Perry yesterday, so I didn't see him again.

Fortunately, my phone is now working, but the cracks in the screen indicate that it has fallen hard. 'Fallen'...

When I enter the schoolyard, I quickly look around to see if I can see Dianne. Of course it makes no sense, I know that. Just because she was nice to me in math doesn't mean she wants to be friends. But still, secretly, I have hope. No one at school has been nice to me in months.

I remember well how it started; the bullying. It started with insulting, it got worse and worse. From bitch to worthless heap of misery. Then it got physical. They turn the class against me, all behind the teachers' backs.

"I put my bike in the garage and walk towards my locker. I open it unobtrusively and throw in my coat. When I want to walk to the classroom, I bump into someone. It's Dianne. "Watch your caps." Snarls she I look at her questioningly "What are you looking at, bitch?" Is this the Dianne I talked to in math yesterday? The Dianne who was nice to me? "Why are you acting like that? You were nice to me yesterday." Dianne puts her hand on her side. "That was before I knew you had." I look at her, not understanding. "Oh come on! Emma and Tara told me everything!" Emma and Tara... this can't be right. "I went to see them yesterday and asked why they were so mean to you." Dianne snarls further. "They told me that you gossiping about everyone that's why they do that. And that you've been talking about me." My eyes widen with surprise. I can't speak anymore. "You also threatened Tara, that's why Tara hardly says anything to you anymore."

"That... that's not true at all! Do you believe them over me?" I stammer. Then people come around the corner, people I know well, unfortunately. Emma and Tara. They also did this with the rest of the class. Emma leads the way, as always. "Watch out, Dianne! She's dangerous!" Emma begins. "She...Uhm..." Tara stammers, as if she's afraid of me. "Tar, are you okay?" Tara shakes her head. This has been rehearsed, there is no other way. "Dianne, will you please go outside with Tara?" Dianne still does it! Like she's been brainwashed! Emma comes closer. "Too bad, Juul. Have you lost a girlfriend again." There are tears in my eyes. "I only helped her, what should she do with you?" She laughs meanly. "You don't have anyone left, girl. No one wants to be friends with you, and now you're in detention, too. How sad." I gasp, but it's like I can't breathe anymore. I have to get out of here, fresh air. I run towards the door. I can still hear Emma yelling things, but I can't understand anything. Everything is black before my eyes I grab my bike, put my bag on it and cycle away as fast as possible Away from here, away from this shit school.
