Miguel, Hawk and I rode our electric scooters to practise the next day. My knuckles were destroyed, but I would live. We’d saved up all summer to get them, they were pretty cool. One of the nicest things I ever owned.

“Alright. So I get my license next week” Hawk spoke up “My mom’s gonna give me her sentra, I think I’ll put in a blue racing stripe down the middle, hood to tail"

“Subtle, I like it” Miguel shook his head fondly

We rounded the corner to see a bunch of kids outside the dojo. We are getting new kids now, it’ll be interesting to see how long they all last.

“Looks like we got some new students”

“Fresh fish” Hawk and I chorused.

We all smirked as we walked over to them. We were the hot shots here. We were the ones to beat. And hell, we knew it.

“Check this out” Hawk smirked

“Don’t” Miguel sighed, but he had an entertained grin on his face

“Hey, mouth breathers. Move it” Hawk jerked his head

The two boys grinned like little girls, one boy opened the door for us right away.

“Sorry about that-”

“I’ll get the door”

“So, you guys wanna be Cobra Kai’s huh?” Hawk just couldn’t stop smirking

Hawk jumped at them, making them flinch. I couldn’t help but laugh a little

“You got a long road ahead of you” I smirked

I gave the boys a wink as the three of us strutted into the dojo. When we walked in, there was a missing mirror, and  burn mark on the wall

“What the hell happened here?"

“I dunno” Aisha shrugged “Looks like sensei threw a party”

“Must’ve been pretty sick if fire got involved”

“Yeah well we’re lucky that it didn’t burn the place down or you wouldn’t be here pretty boy” I nudged him

“We’d find somewhere else, Cobra Kai never dies” Hawk smirked, throwing a punch at me which I dodged easily.

We were about to start sparring but my dad walked out.

“Quiet!” the usual shout “The dojo’s closed to new students today"

“We just wanted to sign up after we saw the tournament” one of the boys at the door said

“Do I need to say it again? Get out!” Dad shouted

“Yes sir- sensei… come on, let’s go” the other door boy rushed everyone out.

The kids all went running. Dad did not seem in a good mood today, that was for sure.

“Everyone fall in!” he shouted

“Must’ve been a rager sensei” Hawk smiled

“Yeah, were you celebrating all weekend?” I chuckled

“Celebrating what?” Dad bellowed, throwing everyone off guard “My students are a bunch of pussies” he growled “Diaz, Hawk up front!” Now everyone was on edge. Both boys moved, everyone watched my dad carefully “Hawk. Did you attack your opponent when his back was turned?”

“Yes sensei?”

Oh I see where this is going now. I should’ve known.

“Diaz. Did you purposefully attack your opponent's injury?”
