"And that's when Rafe walked in." Iris said as she glanced over to see Tatum's reaction.
Tatum's jaw dropped, "On you doing lines with Jack?"
"Yup."
Tatum laughed nervously then got up and started pacing, "Oh my. You're in trouble."
"He kept telling me I was in danger and shit. He thought Jack would do something to me."
"I mean, Jack's a piece of shit-good in bed though, but that's not the point." Iris rolled her eyes at Tatum, who sighed, trying to find her words, "The point is, I don't think he's that low. I can see how Rafe finds him intimidating or menacing, I guess." Tatum bit the inside of her cheek, "But he also knows better than to fuck with Rafe Cameron. He's scared shitless of him."
"Well, uh, he might be even more scared now."
"Why?"
"Because Rafe beat him up at Barry's after he dragged me out of the house."
"Lord have mercy. You're kidding!" Tatum giggled, shaking her head.
"I'm not." Iris said, expressionless.
"Jesus, I cannot wait to hear Jack's side of this." Tatum sat back down on Iris' bed beside her, "But, are you okay though? Are you sure you should be going to parties with your current mental state and your personal issues?"
"It's not like it can get any worse, Tatum."
"Iris, that's not what I want to hear."
"I don't have any drugs. I only have alcohol."
"Not that that's any better-"
"It's a start, right?"
"I don't want to agree with that statement." Tatum sighed, "I'd go sober with you though. Like not just tonight, but for the long run."
Iris smiled at her, throwing her arm around her shoulders, "I appreciate that."
"You'll keep it in mind, hm?"
"Of course." Iris nodded in agreement.
"Because we both know that Rafe is not capable of staying clean."
Iris nodded, staying silent, because it was true. She knew that from the beginning.
"He also dropped out of college back in April and didn't tell me."
"This man! Are you serious?" Tatum looked at her with wide eyes.
"Yup."
The two girls caught up on all the shenanigans that occurred earlier in the day before getting ready for the party at the Cameron's, which Rafe was hosting, of course.
Ward and Rose were on the mainland for the night, so of course that meant a house party at Tanneyhill.
Iris and Tatum walked hand in hand into the Cameron's, both a bit tipsy from the shots they took prior to leaving her house.
