They fought in four groups. Kaede supervised the one in the north, on the side with the field where one had a good overview. Her group was the largest with 12 members, but they obviously needed it. "North group here. At least 20 opponents." "East group. No one yet." "South group. Nobody- Oh forget that there are some of the shitty guys." "How many?" Katsuki was already not answering. That idiot. "West group, ten opponents. Shall we split up?" "No, keep an eye on the entrances. Let's go." Kaede walked towards the field where the villains were slowly approaching. "Where's Shigaraki?" "You are not worthy of him coming here and talking to you. What do you expect? You think we're going to chat with you? We'll overrun you and because you were foolish enough to come here alone, you'll be the first to fall." "You are stupid sidekicks who don't know what you are talking about." Kaede put up the speaker and covered her ears. They were students, they had no experience in combat, so the only way to win was to make the best of their abilities. With a perfect strategy. The eyes of the villains before her grew dim and Kaede turned to see how Shiryn was doing. The girl was in Hitoshi's arms, who gave her a thumbs-up. She released her hands from her ears. Although she couldn't hear anything, she still felt dizzy, a really strong Quirk. At the same moment as she saw fear flash in her comrades' eyes, she noticed something behind her. Someone threw her to the ground and choked her. It was an older man with a scar from eye to ear. Was he deaf and the chanting had not worked because of that? He had the firm grip of a grown man, Kaede would only get out of it if she killed him with the knives or knocked him out with her Quirk. Both were paths she did not want to take, so she waited until Eijiro came running and pushed the man away while Mezo helped Kaede up. While Eijiro was still busy, Kaede reported. "North group done with 20 villains."

"Something is wrong." "You're right, it was too easy." Izuku and Kaede watched through a window as the others in the dining room were in high spirits. "But we can't tell them, we shouldn't burden them while they're still celebrating." "But don't you think it would be better to stay on standby?" She nodded stiffly. "No one was seriously hurt and the villains retreated very quickly. How could only we have noticed that they just wanted to scout us?" "They don't want to see it, they don't want to know about the danger." Again Kaede nodded. "The next attack will be worse. They need their powers. I'll give early warning before the villains get there." She tried to leave, but Izuku grabbed her arm. "Don't push yourself too far." She smiled determinedly. "I have to overextend myself, for all the students there in the room." Kaede looked for Katsuki, found him and pulled him with her into an empty common room. After he sat down, she lay down beside him, her head in his lap so she could look up at him. "What exactly are you going to do now?" "I am meditating now. And because I trust you, you may watch over me. I'm trying to spot villains approaching us." "Let's do it then. Close your eyes, shut up and sleep." "Wake me when you want to sleep yourself, will you?" "Shut up now."

Katsuki noticed that she was getting restless. She moved back and forth in his lap as if trying to escape something, until she started to tremble. He pulled her up so she was lying on his lap and leaned her against his chest when she woke up. A startled sound escaped her throat. "It's okay, I'm here." "They're coming, they're many." She took a deep breath in and out. "I don't think we can do this Katsuki." He held her away from him to look her in the eye. "Don't talk that shit. We're going to win against those bastards. Stop being so stupid, don't you trust me?" "I trust you." He nodded in satisfaction. "Then you have no reason to question my decision for us to win."

They had mixed up the groups so that the villains could not prepare themselves. Kaede was standing with Hanta at the edge of the forest fixing new trip traps when Shoto announced a message through the comm: "North group, at least 50 villains." She turned to Hanta. "It's started, let's go back." He turned just as something rustled behind him. "Get down!" She jumped over him and held her knife aloft, ready to fight. Someone kicked her feet away, but she rolled across the floor and got back to her feet in time to parry an attack. She kicked her opponent violently in the side so that he crashed into the tree, but that only bought her a few seconds. She ran to Hanta to run back to the others together. "It wasn't planned to fight at the forest, we have to get to the others!" She grabbed her ear, "East group, opponents here but undetermined number." The others looked at her with wide eyes. "We're going to plan C." As if Kaede was swaying the mood, the others nodded resolutely. She took a step back towards Denki. "Are you ready?" He seemed quite nervous, but nevertheless he called out loudly. "Of course!" "Kyoka, your entrance." Kyoka put her earbuds to the floor while the others waited. "A large group on the right and a few small ones spread out on the left." "All right, we'll split up. Team c to the right, the rest to the left." Tenya, Ibara, Denki, Pony and Kaede made their way to the right. Kyoka stopped at the post to call for reinforcements if possible. Further to the right of the forest, Group C lined up. "Finish them off in one blow Denki." "I'll do my best." The other groups were now in contact with the enemy. "Let's go then." Denki was propelled forward by Pony's horns, where several villains were already surging forward. Yellow lightning left his body and transferred to most of the villains. Actually it was enough, Denki should not overreach himself but of course he did not listen. After a second shock wave, some villains were still standing, but Denki was defenceless among them, now no more than an idiot. "Tenya, your turn." Tenya sprinted forward, kicking a hole in the villains' ranks and bringing Denki back safely. "Ibara, now you." The girl didn't take two words for it. She took a few steps forward and sent a wave of vines sweeping over the villains. But now the villains wanted to get in on the act. Someone below them shone in a blindingly bright light. Kaede could just see the tendrils shrivel up and dry out before everything turned grey. "I can't see anything!" "Don't panic, stay calm." Someone stumbled against her. Kaede reached out and tried to steady the person. Kaede looked for Denki and took his hand. She felt his pain and gritted her teeth to look for more, she would only have seconds before the villains were with them. She sensed Denki was lost and didn't know which way was up or down, so she took advantage. She ran forward and when she felt something cold against her cheek, she reached forward. She only saw shadows, but she was able to grasp the skin and transmitted the feeling. The first villain fell over with a bad feeling in his stomach and threw up. "A wall of vines Ibara!" Kaede sent out pressure that pinned the opponents beside her to the ground in a way that allowed her to deliver kicks. She heard something snap, probably a jaw, before someone yanked her to the ground. A blow to her temple made her vision more colourful but also blurred. She gritted her teeth. She remembered how last time she had been choked she had waited for someone else to save her, as she did all the time. But no one would save her. If she didn't act now, not only would she die, but so would the others behind the wall of vines. She tensed all her muscles before diving into the villain's head. She searched for his motivation as to why he was strangling her, then twisted it. It felt like her world was spinning and she almost threw up if her breath hadn't still been choked off. Then she released the attacker's spirit. The grip around her neck loosened and she heard someone scream. "What are you doing, I'm on your side-" she gasped and gripped the ground. The earth and grass on her fingers told her she was back on the ground, but it didn't feel that way. Someone came running, lifting her up. "It's me Kaede." Tenya had pulled her away from the villains. "What are we going to do now?"
