- 3 Days Later -

"My lady, please wake up..."

Y/n's brows furrowed, feeling someone gently shaking her. She opened her eyes, only to be taken aback as she saw the emperor. "Y-your majesty..." The h/c-haired lad immediately sat properly, fixing her hair as she feels conscious of how she looks.

The emperor stared at her, making her feel even more conscious. "I apologize for waking you up, but we've already arrived at Eldia. The gates are opening now..."

Her eyes widened, Y/n looked outside and saw an unfamiliar vast land around and in front is a 60-meter wall. She could hear the loud bell, indicating that the emperor had already returned from his long journey.

"I-I see..." Y/n took a deep breath.

She looked at Erwin, and was surprised when the blond man hopped inside her carriage, and sat down on the seat across from her. "Your majesty, you should go-"

"I'll stay with you until we arrive at the imperial palace." Erwin spoke, cutting her off. Y/n wanted to protest, but she could clearly see that Erwin would not listen to her.

And so, she just let the emperor be.

Y/n kept her eyes outside through the window, even after her carriage moved.

While Erwin kept his eyes on Y/n, he saw the sudden anxiety on Y/n's eyes, her fists clenched tightly, and gripped on her dress.

"THE SUN LION OF THE ELDIAN EMPIRE HAS RETURNED! WITH THE SOON-TO-BE EMPRESS OF OUR EMPIRE! WELCOME HIS MAJESTY AND THIS EMPIRE'S MOTHER!!!"

Y/n gulped as she sighted the people waiting for them inside the walled city.

There are lots of knights at the side, preventing the commoners from getting close to their carriage. Sir Levi is leading the way, while the other knights are around them, keeping on tight guard. "You look quite nervous, my lady." Y/n was shocked.

She looked at Erwin. "Pardon...?"

Erwin smiled a bit. "You don't have to be nervous, everyone knows I'm inside this carriage with you." The blond man kept his eyes on her, making her feel distracted from her racing heart out of anxiety.

His eyes...it seems like it makes me calm.

Sir Levi, who's outside and riding his horse, leading the way, raised a brow upon seeing three familiar "brats" among the crowd.

Tch. Mikasa and those two boys.

Mikasa only stared at him Levi with the same stoic expression like him.

While the two young boys with his younger cousin both looked so excited to see him.

Especially the grand carriage of the Emperor and soon-to-be Empress.

"I want to see how our soon-to-empress looks like."

"Have you heard? They say she's a wicked member of the Marleyan royal family."

"What is she even thinking about when she came here to become our empress?"

"I bet she just wants power, she might even be a spy of the Marleyans!"

"The emperor seemed to have made a bad choice."

Sir Levi and his knights ignored the whisperings of the people. It's not like they'll be able to stop them from talking bad about Y/n. The people will keep on talking nonsense, until they get tired.

"YOUR MAJESTY!!"

Y/N and Erwin were both surprised when their carriage suddenly stopped.

"YOUR MAJESTY! PLEASE HEED OUR CRIES! YOU CANNOT MARRY A WOMAN WHO CAME FROM THE KINGDOM WHO WERE THE REASONS OF THIS EMPIRE'S DARK AGE! YOU SHOULDN'T MARRY A MARLEYAN WOMAN AND LET HER HAVE THE POSITION OF EMPRESS....!!!"
