Cuddle Bug (Bucky x reader)

Team adventure at the zoo

For the rest of the night Bucky made love to you, taking small breaks to cuddle and just gaze into your eyes or watch you sleeping. When he finally fell asleep, he had the best night's sleep he had had all week. When he woke up, you were still tangled up in his embrace, tracing his scars with the tips of your fingers with a small frown on your face.
"That tickles" he gave you a loving smile, watching you seem so focused.
"What's this one from?" you asked, referring to one on his chest that was dangerously close to his vibranium arm.
"When I fell from the train" he whispered, taking your hand and kissing your fingers. "It's something that took me a long time to remember clearly"
"Are you ever scared they will try to take you back?" you asked in a barely concealed whisper.
"They've tried a few times, but I think they cut their losses a few years ago when Steve, Sam and I took down the entire base that was designed to be a trap" he shrugged. "Are you worried?"
"Always" you sighed, running your hand over his slight beard that was coming in.
"Nothing in this world is going to stop me from coming home to you" he vowed, leaning down and kissing you on top of your head.
"What time is it?" you asked before reaching behind you for your phone. You saw it was almost breakfast time and groaned a little to yourself. "Time to get up" you sighed heavily.
"Not yet" Bucky shook his head and moved to pin you on your back. His lips quickly found yours in a lingering but sensuous kiss that made your toes want to curl. You hummed against his lips, and pushed more into it enjoying the sensation of having his lips on your own again. He pulled back from the kiss with a twinkle in his eyes as he smiled down at you. "Marry me" he whispered.
"Bucky" you giggled and pulled out of his embrace.
"Why not?" he asked with a soft chuckle.
"We just stopped fighting" you gave a sigh, and got out of bed. "Where are my clothes?" you glanced at him over your shoulder.
"Some of it is in the boxes, some of it is in the closet" Bucky grimaced, not liking that you brushed off his proposal like that. He hadn't really thought it through either, he just knew what he wanted, and that was to spend the rest of his life with you. He watched forlornly as you went into the closet and came out a few minutes later in a pair of blue jeans and a pink bra. He had a moment of inspiration and went into the closet and grabbed a gift bag from the back and brought it out to you as you were going through the boxes with a small frown on your face.
"What's this?" you asked curiously.
"Everyone's been giving you a shirt before me" he got his confidence back and gave a wink. You looked in the bottom of the bag and found a navy blue shirt with his emblem on it and it was signed by him. You gave a soft squeal and quickly put it on. He nodded to himself, feeling a little proud, and went back into the closet to grab some more clothes. He quickly got dressed in a white Henley and a pair of black jeans. He remembered that the group of you were going to the zoo today, and also acknowledged that the white would showcase his vibranium arm, but with you by his side, he wasn't worried about it. He took a moment to put on his boots and glanced out into the bedroom to see you just finishing up tying your laces on your red converse sneakers.
"Okay, so as soon as we get home we need to unpack some of these boxes" you looked around the room, seeming a little surprised at how much there was. Bucky didn't miss the slight pink tint on your cheeks, and he hoped you were still thinking of his proposal.
"I'll unpack all of them if you at least think about my earlier question" he went to you and put his hands on your hips.
"Bucky, be serious," you giggled. "We will unpack them together" you sighed, your cheeks getting pinker.
"I'm always serious when it comes to you" he dipped his head down and gave you a soft kiss on the lips. "But I'll wait" he backed away. "I'll just keep asking," he added with a wicked grin.
"Stop" you giggled, and danced away from his embrace. You grabbed your purse off of the couch, along with a steadily growing Aurora and Alpine jumped on Bucky's shoulders. You both headed downstairs, ready to start your day.

"You are terrible at being inconspicuous" Loki glared at Thor as the group of you stood in the lineup to get in the zoo. Thor stood wearing a tight white t-shirt and a pair of jeans, and a baseball cap with the emblem of his hammer embroidered on the front of it. Loki was in her female form, hissing at him in distaste.
"What? I wore a hat" Thor gave a cheeky smile, knowing he wasn't keeping the low profile that Tony asked of them at breakfast.
"You are literally giving yourself away" she rolled her eyes and looked at you apologetically. You had your arm wound around Bucky's bare vibranium arm and you shrugged.
"Bucky isn't exactly keeping a low profile either" you giggled.
"Tony's going to lose his shit" Nat chuckled evilly, leaning more into Bruce.
"We aren't exactly the most inconspicuous bunch," Vision admitted.
"Good, if they take pictures and see her they will know she is constantly protected" Wanda got up to the ticket stand and paid for the entire group pass.
"Wanda! I could have helped pay" you tried to argue.
"Nonsense, I don't get out with you enough. Let me treat the team" she smiled brilliantly. "Besides, we have reasons to celebrate," she added quickly.
"What are we celebrating?" Steve asked.
"The fact that those two stopped fighting, finally" she pointed between you and Bucky. "I was on your side Y/N" she added quickly.
"What was the fight about anyways?" Thor asked curiously.
"That she wanted to go back to work and not be his little pet in the compound" Loki said as though it was common knowledge. "He recanted, thankfully"
"You can't honestly believe she would just be a wallflower? She's a wildflower" Bruce gave a soft smile as the group of you headed into the zoo itself.
"It was too much to hope for" Bucky whispered and Steve clapped him on the shoulder.
"You're an idiot" Nat rolled her eyes. "I knew it had to be pretty serious if even Sam wouldn't acknowledge you"
"That was hard to do, he kept trying to get updates on my cuddle bug" Sam looked like he was uncomfortable with the subject.
"Mommy look! It's the Avengers!" a little girl exclaimed and you felt Bucky freeze up as he heard a camera shutter.
"Tony is definitely going to kill one of us" you whispered and discretely tried to get away from the group.
"Where are you going doll?" Bucky pulled you back under his arm.
"I'm not used to the limelight, you guys have it" you shook your head.
"Get used to it" Wanda giggled. "You're part of the team" she reminded you. You felt a ripple of anxiety and your hands started to flicker with a blue light.
"I'm background material" you shook your head.
"Come on, look at me" Bucky pulled you in more and you gazed up into his eyes. He leaned down and kissed you softly on the lips. "We are just out for a walk," he reminded you. "Just because we are noticed, doesn't mean anything. Tony will take care of it" he promised.
Some of the team went over to the little family that had flocked over to take pictures and signed various pieces of paper as if it was the most common thing to do. Bucky seemed to hold back until a little girl came over and pulled on his vibranium hand and he looked down at her a little confused.
"Can you sign this for me Sergeant Barnes? You're one of my hero's" she showed she was wearing an Avengers t-shirt and sure enough his logo was on it.
"Sure" Bucky hesitated in taking the sharpie from her and signed the bottom corner under where Steve had already signed it. You waited patiently and politely stepped away while he talked with the little girl, and you went over to take pictures of the team, then of the animals. You did a close up of Bucky, Sam and Steve standing together, then one of Loki and Thor, one of Wanda and VIsion, and finally one of Nat and Bruce cuddling. You posted them all on your secret Instagram account and started walking along, looking at all the animals as you went. You felt an arm link in through yours and saw Loki had caught up to you, and was keeping pace beside you.
"He really is sorry, Kitten," she whispered to you. "And he does intend to marry you"
"He can't just ask in passing" you rolled your eyes.
"He'll learn" she giggled and got you to slow your pace.

Going through the zoo took almost two hours longer than usual because the team kept getting recognized and you had to keep stopping for them to sign various memorabilia, shirts, hats, and papers. Even some zoo tickets. You couldn't help but giggle at the hilarity of the situation, knowing that Tony was probably losing his mind. You continued to post pictures of the team and all of the animals as you went. When Loki wasn't holding your arm, Bucky was holding your hand, or had his arm over your shoulders in an almost possessive manner. He glared at a few men that were looking at you and Loki curiously, and would come over and give you a kiss on the cheek very publicly. He seemed to be trying to find every opportunity to show that you were his and his alone.
Your favorite part of the day was when you went in to feed the deer again. You stole some pictures of each of the team taking turns to feed the deer and pet them. You loved that Bucky seemed more comfortable with doing it this time. By the time you were done, you were exhausted and just wanted to go sit down for a few minutes, but you also knew that you had to go home and unpack. Maybe get another snuggle in with Bucky before bed. You started thinking about what it would be like to be married to Bucky for real. He mentioned it almost in passing a few times now, but the look in his eyes this morning when he said it told you that he really wanted it. It wasn't missed by you that he seemed disappointed when you didn't jump at the idea right away. You were still getting over the fact that the pair of you just had such a big fight. He also proved he could apologize, which was something you knew was rare in human beings as a species. You were still learning about him, but you couldn't help but think that you loved him to pieces.
"Penny for your thoughts?" Bucky asked as you were all walking back towards the cars.
"I was just thinking today was a pretty great day" you gave a reassuring smile.
"It's barely started, we have decorating and unpacking to do" he winked at you, giving you a kiss on your temple.
