"What did you wish for?" Bucky asked, taking your hand and leading you towards one of the wooden benches. He took off his brown leather jacket and draped it across the seat for you both to sit on. You swiped a hand across the backside of your dress to make sure it didn't ride up and sat down delicately. You rolled your eyes goodnaturedly at Bucky's question and made a slight pout with your lips. He sat down next to you and wrapped his right arm across your shoulders and pulled you in, still watching you expectantly.
"I can't tell you that, or else it will never come true" you finally replied.
"Do you want to know what I wished for?" he asked you, licking his lips.
"No, or else it won't come true" you giggled. "Don't you want it to come true?" you asked.
"Very much so" he nodded.
"Then not another word" you leaned over and gave him a kiss on the cheek. You saw there was a red imprint on his skin and couldn't help but giggle again. You reached over with your hand and wiped at the mark, trying to get it off, but he just turned his face and kissed your fingertips. You flushed slightly, and just leaned into him more, laying your head in the crook of his neck. "What is this all about, Bucky?" you asked.
"Just enjoy the day" he chuckled. "I thought we established no more questions?" he reminded you.
"How did you find this place?" you ignored his comment.
"I had time between missions. There's a legend about this wishing well" he told you and you perked up automatically.
"Oh?" you looked at him, curiosity burning in your eyes.
"It's said that this wishing well was built back in the eighteenth century by a man who was madly in love with a woman who was in a higher social status than him. She loved to come to this very hill every Sunday and just sit. She had commented to him once, that she had always wanted a wishing well so she could make wishes. So he built it for her, and then he asked her daddy for her hand in marriage. Her daddy said no, but she heard what happened, and she ran off and married him anyway. Every single week the two of them would walk up this hill hand in hand and they would make a wish together. No one knows what they wished for, but apparently they lived a long and happy life together. They had a nice big family, and their kids kept up the habit of coming to the wishing well every Sunday, and so did their kids and so on. Legends say you can still see them making their way up the side of the hill at night, hand in hand to make another wish" he gave a smirk.
"That's lovely," you sighed.

"Did you want to find out if it's true?" he asked with a mischievous glint in his eye.
"Maybe" you giggled.
"They say wishes made here really do come true," he added quickly.
"Really?" you asked, arching your eyebrow.
"Yeah, even Sam read about it while we were on the mission. He said it was a sure thing" he nodded.
"Interesting" you leaned into him again and looked up at the wishing well. "What's the name of this town?" you asked.
"Hope" he replied quickly. "And this is Hope's well," he added.
"Let me guess, the lady in the story's name was Hope?" you asked.
"Rumor has it" he nodded. You immediately pulled out your phone and did a quick google search and read the history of the town, and of the well. He had summarized it quite well. You put your phone away again, and Bucky sat smirking to himself that he actually got you to look it up. He knew your curiosity would get the best of you.
"Ready to go?" he asked.
"I thought we were going to wait for their ghosts?" you asked, a little surprised.
"Maybe tomorrow, it's better on Sunday's," he shrugged.
"So we came all this way to make a wish?" you looked at the wishing well again.
"Yup" he kissed your cheek again and stood up, holding out a hand to you. You accepted it and stood up on your feet again. He grabbed his jacket with his left hand and just put it over his shoulder as he didn't seem to want to let go of your hand. He led you back down through the winding pathways back to the car, and he opened the door for you. After he drove you through the village of Hope and you were surprised at how much there was to look at. You did like that they had a small grocery store, and thought that it would be much easier to do your grocery runs once you started living at the house more full time. You wondered if Bucky would join you, or if Tony would even allow it. You then started wondering how Loki or Sam would handle it, since you had become so close to them. And if Bucky came with you, what about Steve? You got so lost in your head you didn't even realize that Bucky had started directing the car back to the house. Your stomach let out a treacherous growl, and you both burst out laughing.
"Don't worry baby, I'm going to feed you" he promised, reaching over and taking your hand and giving it a gentle squeeze.

When you got home, you got out of the car first against Bucky's request. He sighed heavily as he waited for you to come around to his side of the car, and he took your hand. He led you towards the front door and you thought it was a little odd that the front door was unlocked. You could have sworn it was locked before you left. You looked at Bucky confused, but he just opened the door and stood still. You looked in and the floor leading to the living room and the bedroom was covered in red and pink rose petals.
"Go to the living room doll" he whispered to you.
"Bucky, what is this?" you asked, a little baffled. He chuckled and shook his head.
"There you go with the questions again, come on" he put his hand in the small of your back and gently guided you to the living room. You saw a small platter of chocolate covered strawberries with two glasses of wine on the small coffee table, right beside a hardcover of your favorite romance novel that was tied together with a red and pink satin bow. There was also a dish with a chilled bottle of wine waiting for you.
"Okay, you know I'm going to ask" you giggled.
"Sit" he pointed at the couch, and you dutifully sat down.
"This is romantic" you said, trying not to ask more questions.
"I hope so," he chuckled, sitting down beside you. He picked up the dish of strawberries and turned to face you. With his right hand he picked up one and brought it up to your lips. You smirked before sucking it in past your lips and biting down on the succulent treat. He took one for himself, and prepared your next strawberry for you. You reached up and took it from him, and giggled feeling nervous, and took a bite.
"The only thing missing is candles" you finally said.
"Those are in the bedroom. Away from anything flammable" he told you easily.
"And who helped you with this?" you asked, looking around the room.
"I'll tell you later" he smirked, seeming to almost be nervous about something. He rubbed his right hand on his pant leg and cleared his throat. "I got you something" he put down the strawberries and picked up the book. You heard something move inside the book and looked at him a little confused. You slowly pulled back the ribbon and let it fall to your lap as Bucky moved around slightly. You opened the book only to see a small black velvet box inside the hollowed out book. Bucky was suddenly on one knee in front of you, and he took the box out of the book. "I've thought about how I wanted to bring this up. How I could possibly plead my case, but... the only words that come to mind are that I love you, and if you'll have me, you'll make me the happiest man alive" he opened the box to reveal a large princess cut engagement ring on a white gold band. The lights in the room flickered briefly as your hands came up to your face as you broke out into a large smile. "Marry me?" he asked.
"Yes Bucky, I'll marry you" you finally squealed after a beat. He swiftly took the ring out of the box and slid it on your finger. It fit perfectly to your surprise. You slid off your seat and pounced on him, knocking him back to the floor as your lips descended upon his. You kissed him hard on the lips to start, but his left hand went to your hip, and his right came up behind your head into your hair as he pulled you in. His kiss was soft and gentle but became urgent quickly. His tongue swept a line across your lips and you eagerly opened your lips to him. His tongue danced with your own and he pulled you in even more.
"I love you" he said as he pulled back temporarily from the kiss.
"I love you" you said quickly, and sucked in another breath as he leaned up to kiss you again. He rolled you onto your back and settled himself between your legs and you wrapped them around his hips quickly, not wanting to give him a chance to move away. Your hands went to the bottom of his t-shirt that was tucked into his jeans, and he seemed to freeze up a little. "What is it?" you asked, pulling back from the kiss.
"I forgot, we aren't alone yet" he grimaced.
"What?!" you asked in a slight shriek.
"Don't worry, we are leaving" you heard Steve's voice coming from the upper floors.
"I knew she would say yes" Sam said with a bit of sass.
"Of course she would, she's in love with him" Loki's voice came down the stairs as well.

Bucky rolled off of you and gave a sheepish smile and you sat up. He reached up to your hair and started pulling rose petals out of it and you couldn't help but giggle.
"Are you decent?" Steve called down.
"They better be!" Sam said quickly.
"Yes, come downstairs please" you yelled and stood up on your feet. Bucky quickly joined you and fixed your dress.
