I guess one more chapter for today won't hurt. I'll also deduct the goal, so the new amount is 40 votes for 5 chapter updates. Here's a heads up, chapter 20 and 21 are the closest to accomplishing this.

5 years later

The wheels of the car screeched; and, no matter how much she wanted that car to brake, it wouldn't.

And then she just flipped over the car...

"NOOO!"

Her chest heaved up and down violently, her brown hair sticking to her forehead and neck as her skin pores released sweat caused by distress. Her eyes were wide open and she stared into nothingness, heavy puffs of air going in and out of her lips.

She took in a shaky breath, before her agitated breathing just turned into a set of heartbroken sobs. She tried to calm herself down; but her sobs wouldn't die down and tears would flow down her cheeks.

She pushed the duvet and the sheets away, sitting on the edge of her king-sized bed. The bedroom was warm; but her body shivered.

She covered her face with her hands, her elbows resting on her milky thighs as she tried to control herself down; her sobs eventually dying down as seconds passed by.

She took in a deep breath and hurriedly grabbed her cell phone with her right hand, wiping her tears with her left hand's fingers. She breathed in and out deeply, her left hand leaving her face and coming down to her bare leg, rubbing it up and down; as if it was an involuntary movement to calm herself down.

She pressed the first number on the speed dial, and closed her eyes as she tried to, calmly, wait for the person on the other line to answer her call.

"...You should be sleeping."

She took in a deep breath, shaking her head.

"...I can't."

She could hear the person on the other line sighing deeply.

"...Nightmares again?"

"...Yeah."

She let her back fall down on the mattress; curling herself up in a ball as she stared at the black wooden headboard, and her coral-colored pillow and sheets.

"...It's 4AM so...what do you think about coming here tomorrow evening? You should really try to get some sleep now."

"...Okay."

"...Goodbye."

She hung up the call and blocked the cellphone's screen, hugging herself as she kept staring at the same spot she had been staring at for the past seconds. Her right hand rubbed her left forearm and she gulped down, blinking her eyes as she could feel more tears welling up in her eyes; one of them eventually making its trail down her right cheek.

"...It's my fault...I shouldn't have let her cross that street...I-It's my f-fault...!"

She buried her face on the mattress, her body shaking with the violence of her sobs. Her salty tears stained the sheets, making them wet; but she could care less. The pain she was feeling was overwhelming and too much to take it all in at once.

Blood slowly made its trail on the surface of the road; the red fluid mixing up with the rain's water as the pouring became more intense...Her hand lifelessly laying down next to it, covered in blood.

"N-n-no! N-NO!"

She hugged herself, in an effort of recovering composure. Her warm breath hit the sheets and made them warm; which was oddly comforting for her at the time.
