My hands were shaking the whole drive. I was terrified of the choice I had just made but in my heart I knew it was the right one.
Colby was under so much stress trying to figure out how to end this without involving me. There was no possible way to do that and he would never admit that.
I just had to be thoughtful and careful.
Of course it terrified me even more that I was pregnant but I was going to wear the vest Nate made for me the entire time.
Was it a absolute certainty nothing would happen to the baby? Not at all but I had to try my hardest to protect her.
I realized that when I got to Seattle I didn't have any plan but I knew there was one place I could go.
Once I got to the place I needed to get I reached back into my bag and grabbed the gun and knife I had in there, then hid them in my clothes.
There was so much fear sitting in my chest as I got out of the car and made my way down the alleyway.
It was the first time I've been outside alone in a very long time and I was extremely uncomfortable about it.
Will made it seem like there was a sniper on me at all times, but I haven't been murdered yet so maybe they gave up on me.
I walked down the familiar alleyway then pounded my fist on the door before pulling my gun out.
After nobody answered I pounded my fist on the door again.
This time someone opened it with an angry look on his face and a gun drawn.
"Julia?" Jeremy asked as realization filled his features. "We need to talk." I said then pushed passed him.
"Woah woah woah. You can't just barge in places, Julia. You know better than that." Jeremy said and tried to stop me.
"I know that I can and will kill you if you don't help me." I said coldly. "Alright, cool it." He said then pushed my gun to lower it.
"What are you doing here? Does Colby know where you are? Is he...fuck is he dead?" Jeremy asked with fear.
"No and no. Can we talk in private?" I asked and looked around. "Yeah, come on." He said then led the way down the hallway.
I followed behind him, keeping my guard up. It had been such a long time since I've been in the presence of the old members of the secret society and it made me nervous to be near them.
"Alright, what's going on?" Jeremy asked as he closed the door to his office.
"Have you ever heard of the original four?" I asked, getting straight to the point.
"Kind of. Quill talked about his upbringing in the crime world and there's always been lore but I don't know much about specifics other than the fact that they are elusive but lethal." Jeremy explained.
"Why?" He asked as my face fell. "Julia...are they after you?" He asked as I nodded. "How?" He asked with shock.
"Colby and I escaped the crime world and had a normal life for six months before Pops, my dad's best friend, kidnapped Sam. Colby went to go find him and then was also kidnapped. That's when I got involved." I said and started pacing the room.
"Long story short...I killed Pops but I also killed someone important to Snake...another member of the original four. The two remaining members are after me now." I said as Jeremy nodded.
"And you need my help?" He asked as I nodded. "Kinda. I don't know where to start. Will told me they were seen up here. I need to kill them both and take control of the crime world. It's gotta be me." I said as he looked away.
