"Call us when you get home safe." I said to Sam as I gave him a hug. "Okay, mom." Sam said with a laugh as I rolled my eyes.

"I care about you and your well being, is that too much? Should I stop?" I asked as he laughed and hugged me again.

"No. Love ya, Jules. I will call when I get home." He said then pulled away. "Good. Now I gotta lay down." I said then went to go sit on the couch.

Today Sam was leaving to go back to LA. I was going to miss him because he brought such a light to our family but it was time for us to start really getting ready for the baby.

"I'll be back, sweetheart. Call me if you want me to pick you up anything." Colby said then came over and kissed my head.

"I'm hoping to be knocked out in the next five minutes but thank you." I said as he chuckled.

"Alright, I'll be home in a little while." He said then looked at Sam. "Let's go." He said then the two left.

Once they left I took a deep breath. It has been such a hectic couple weeks and this was the first moment of real silence I have had, since the kids were all at school.

I laid back on the couch and rubbed my belly gently before closing my eyes.

It felt like hours that I was trying to sleep before I eventually gave up so I could go clean or work on the nursery.

"Oof-" I grunted as I tried to stand up. It was amazing that I was able to do anything without any help with how rounded my belly was.

I decided to go into the kitchen first so I could clean things and set up the bottle warmer that we had bought a couple weeks ago.

It was amazing how excited Colby was to be a dad. While we were shopping for baby stuff he pointed out the bottle warmer because he wanted to be able to feed her, too.

I was going to be breastfeeding her as much as I could but I knew there would be so many times that I couldn't. I just couldn't wait to see him bond with our daughter.

"Oh what the fuck?" I asked myself as I unpacked the box. I thought it was going to be an easy process but the instructions seemed a little more complex than I was thinking.

I was determined to make it happen by myself though.

I spent the next couple hours figuring out the bottle warmer, then scrubbed literally every surface on the kitchen.

"Jules?" Colby asked as I looked up at him. "What are you doing? I thought you wanted to be unconscious." He said as I scrubbed the floor with a toothbrush.

"It didn't work. Look what I did though." I said and pointed to the bottle warmer on the counter.

"Oh wow, so you didn't relax for even a minute." He said as I shrugged. "I tried and failed. We have to go do some stuff in the nursery." I said and held my hands out so he could help me up.

"Is this what you meant by nesting?" He asked as I nodded. "This is it, yes." I said as he helped me up.

"Ah." I gasped as my stomach contracted with pain. "Woah..are you..are you going into labor?" He asked as I shook my head.

"I don't think so." I said then breathed through the pain before it went away.

"Are you sure?" Colby asked with concern. "No, but that was the first contraction I've felt today and my water hasn't broken." I said with a sigh then started going out of the room.

"Okay, we'll keep an eye on it." He said with a concerned tone.

I was genuinely not concerned considering I've been feeling contractions for the past couple months, but that one was pretty bad.
