One day after classes were done for the day, Draco and Fleur came into the potion's lab with Scorpius. Your eyes lit up immediately saying, "Give me that baby," you chuckled reaching out for him. Fleur handed him to you immediately.

"I would give you a kiss little man but there is a case of the bogies going around," you chuckled

"I would give you a kiss little man but there is a case of the bogies going around," you chuckled. Draco gave you a disgusted look. "Not me you twit. Did you not have any of them today? I had 4 students with green bogies.. the strands," you stare him down until he gives your favorite horrified look.

"No, I must have missed that when we were talking about Grindylows and how to defeat them. I'll be sure to send them your way for a little potion if I see any," he said with a playful arrogant voice.

You look at him curiously. "I'd be careful who you're talking to Professor Malfoy, never know what sort of brew could slip into your morning pumpkin juice," you smiled at him.

Draco smirked, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "Is that a threat, Professor Snape?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

You laughed softly, shaking your head. "Not a threat, just a friendly reminder of who holds the potion-making prowess in this room. No need to be little tattle tale either, I know where the headmaster sleeps."

Scorpius cooed in your arms, drawing your attention back to the little bundle. "He's growing so fast," you remarked, gently bouncing him. "I'm making you a best friend right now, little man," you tell the baby.

"Scorpius is obviously going to be the seeker. What position for Baron? Keeper, perhaps," he said. "Absolutely not. He's going to be the shy quiet sensitive sort who reads far too many books," she remarked while tidying her bottles on the counter.

"I know you don't want to hear this, but I didn't want it to be a surprise if you see her at the Manor. My father is dating someone," Draco said with apprehension.

"Oh.. Well.. Good for him," you say, lying through your teeth. You knew it would only be a matter of time, but it really didn't change anything.

The thought of Lucius with someone new was unsettling, but you pushed the feeling aside. Inside your head you briefly called him, your Lucius but he wasn't anymore.

Draco studied your face, searching for any sign of distress. "Are you sure you're, okay?" he asked, his voice softening.

You nodded, forcing a smile. "Yeah, I'm fine. Really," you reply as you hand the baby back to his mother. "Everything is perfectly fine. It's perfect. Everything," you said while gritting your teeth.

"I much preferred when everyone was happy and together, pet. He was so happy. I still don't understand what happened. He won't talk about it,, you won't talk about it. I certainly will not be asking Severus," Draco said.

"Is it possible that no one is telling you because it's not your business?" you asked him blankly, crossing your arms in front of your body.

"To some degree, it is. Everyone was happy, family dinners, the girls were always at the Manor. I only see them here now. As much as I hated finding out, I adjusted. He was so happy. Then he was even more stressed looking than usual," Draco said.

A heavy silence filled the room, the weight of unspoken truths pressing down on both of you. Draco's eyes bore into yours, pleading silently for understanding. You took a deep breath, determined to remain composed.

"Draco," you began, choosing your words carefully, "to put it simply, there were too many personalities and dynamics at play. He wanted a baby now, instead of waiting. I can see by your face that you didn't realize he wanted another child. I apologize for saying that."

"This is not his by the way, if that's what you were thinking" you added. Draco's brow furrowed, confusion and a hint of relief flickering across his features. He took a step closer, his posture softening slightly as he tried to grasp the full extent of your words.

"I... I didn't know," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "He didn't tell me he wanted another child and I.. don't know how to feel about that."

"I'm sorry for being the one to tell you that. The timeline was a couple of years from now, so I had time to recover after Baron. I think in some way he felt.. less important in the house. But that couldn't have been further from the truth. We miss him," you admitted.

"Then go get him. He's still at the office most likely," Draco tells you, hopefully. "No. That's impulsive. Yes, we miss him but there are so many uncertainties. I can't have him come back and leave again. The girls cannot handle it. Every time they see him, they cry when we have to go home. It's not fair," you tell him, trying to choke down the tears.

"She was riding Oliver last time I was there," Draco informed you. Your eyes slammed shut. "Excuse me? She did what? My Oliver? My Unicorn?" you said with disbelief.
