~Vik's POV~
Stuffed animals have also been a big part of my life. They are my comfort when humans fail. They listen when no one else will. They are labeled as childish in society, though. I think that's sad. You should be able to get a stuffed animal without being looked down upon. Without feeling guilty for enjoying them.
I'm 16 and still have my stuffed animals. At this point in my life, I think they are an extension of myself. I cuddle with certain ones when I feel down. Some I just talk to. And some I secretly take with me on adventures. Every one of my animals has a name. Some of my animals even represent my friends. I have even gone as far as getting one that is essentially me. Although I will admit that it's more like what I want to be.
I named them Sitara, which means star in Hindi. Sitara is like my security blanket. They are the one stuffed animal that never leaves my side.

Because I take Sitara everywhere, eventually people find out about them. They fall out of my back pack or someone goes digging around. The familiar taunts rise up and the teasing begins. After a week or two they move on, but sometimes they come back.
As I said earlier, some of my animals represent my friends. I base the selection on one part of them. Take, for instance, Ethan. Everyone knows his laugh. So he's a hyena.

For Josh, he's a sweetheart, but can be brutal and vicious. There's a lot of animals in the world that can be sweet and deadly at the same time. For some reason, I chose the platypus for him. I don't know, platypi are cute, but have a poisonous stinger.
