It took longer than I had anticipated to get out of the parking lot due to the constant influx of cars but soon, we were back on the road.

"How far to the restaurant?"

"Not far.  There!" I braked hard.

"Where?"

"You went past it.  Turn around."  The car behind me honked, forcing me to pull over.

"Not here!"

"I know, there was a car behind us.  It would be much easier if you were to tell me what I was looking for."

"Alright, it's that little brown building but the red, white, and green sign."

"You mean that little Italian place across the street?"

"Yes.  Mother said it was good."

"Ok.  I'll pull over there." I checked behind me and pulled back into the road.  I was too far up as it was so I had to go up a bit, pull into a parking lot, and then go back onto the street.  However, when I got back to the restaurant, I found that there was no parking lot so I had to go back to the parking lot I had pulled into before as the closest parking lot on this side of the road was the skatium and I didn't want to unfortunate enough to leave when practice had just finished.  It would be more of a nightmare than getting out was!  When we got to the street, Loki went to just walk right across it without looking but I snatched his arm.

"What did I tell you about streets?" I questioned as a car zoomed past us.

"To look both ways." He replied sheepishly.

"If I hadn't been here, you would've been run over and we would've been discovered!"

"The Avengers will arrive tomorrow.  We have nothing to worry–" I clamped my hand over his mouth.

"Don't you dare jinx it." He licked my palm and I recoiled.

"EW!  Loki!" But he was already crossing the street.  I ran after him, wiping my wet palm on my jeans.

The restaurant was small but that did not mean it was not nice.  There were high walls between the booths and soft music playing in the background, making it hard to overhear conversations.  Not only that, but the lights were dim, making it difficult to see others aside from those you're sitting with.  The place was completely empty but I could hear someone moving around in the kitchen as well as smell something good baking.  There was a small, skinny oldish lady at the podium near the entrance.

"Hello, welcome to Raffaello's, how may I help you tonight?"

"Table for two please?"

"Any particular table you'd like?"

"A secluded one." Loki cut me off.

"Of course.  I haven't seen you around before...are you new?"

"Yes, we're visiting some family."  Unlike the guy at the skatium, she seemed to note that we didn't want to say anything more about the matter so she did not question us any further.

"If you would follow me please." We were taken to a table that was far from both the windows and the kitchen door.

"Will this suffice?"

"Yes, thank you."

"I will give you a moment to look at the menu and will be back momentarily with water." She left us to sit down.  I found that not only was the booth made of an untorn red leather but it was warmed as well, much like the seats of my car.
