After Yuna had received all the donations, she was still involved in further talks, but she held back with statements and focused on listening. She wondered if Yui's operation had gone well. Today the PEG probe had been removed. Takashi had assured her that this was a routine procedure and nothing could happen. Nevertheless, she worried about her last, remaining family member.

The first guests had already said good-bye, and slowly the bulk of people seemed to shrink. She was absolutely fine with that.

"Goodbye," Shinji Shiba said to another guest who left his institute. The Oni looked over his shoulder. At last peace had come. Most people had gone. Actually, one could say that almost all humans were gone. All the representatives had held their speeches, offered their donations, and no longer needed to take care of Yoshiro Takagi.

He looked over at the coffin, where the body of his friend rested and waited for his visit to the crematorium. If Shinji had not examined the body with his own hands and eyes, he would've never believed that it was really Yoshiro Takagi.

The undertaker strolled through the room. He spotted the Masuda girl with her friend, who had a few bites from the buffet. He didn't like the girl because of her behavior, but he had to admit that she had mastered her job very well. Of course, she was trained and guided by him, but she had transposed his instructions flawlessly.

Next to the buffet talked Haruka and Kyo. The scaled Oni had to admit that his boss had actually surpassed herself when she took control of the city. She had never told him how the whole thing was done, but he had the opportunity to puzzle the story together by means of memory fragments. She was no Shi Kuro, but she did her job well.

He had to giggle softly.

"Wow. I think I've never heard you giggle before. Really weird."

Shinji glanced over his shoulder. "Do you ever work, or do you just spend the whole evening hanging around?"

Kenji shrugged. "The show is over, isn't it? The number of people here has become very manageable."

The undertaker crossed his arms and studied the audience. "Probably true. The right people will soon arrive for the night watch."

"You didn't convoke a meeting, did you?" the fire-devil asked.

"No."

The doorman drew his brow frizzy. "Why do you think that they will come?"

"It's about Yoshiro. Even among Oni, he is a hero and revered. Only few will dare to not say goodbye. Especially under the circumstances."

Kenji smirked. "The mystery around his body."

"Exactly."

"You still don't know why he left a body, right?"

Slowly Shinji shook his head. "No. Nobody understands what happened." He looked over at Yuna Masuda. "Maybe ... she saved him. His soul. I don't know."

"Let her stab a knife into your heart and find out," the fire devil joked.

"I'll let you go first."

"Hm." The eyes of the furry rested on the redhead, who was standing next to the girl. "At the moment I don't feel like dying."

"Hmph. You will not really fall in love with a human, will you?"

Kenji shrugged. "You can't really decide that, right?"

"Then I will point your attention to your competitor." The undertaker nodded in the direction of the police chief.
