84 An Escalation (Present)

"What did you do yesterday, Yuna-chan?"

The blue-haired girl stirred her chocolate. "Do you mean me and Hikari?"

"Yes." In addition, the cat girl nodded.

Grinning, the taller high-school student leaned forward and whispered, "I tried to hook her up."

"For real?! With whom?" The green eyes were glued to Yuna's lips with interest.

"Wataru has a twin brother, Takeru. At first she thought he had cut his hair."

"How did you come up with that? That's not something I thought you'd do," wondered the gray-haired.

"The night before I watched a movie with Wata and his sister Kiriko, and that's exactly what it was about. Two girls liked the same boy, so one of them tried to couple her friend with another guy, so she could have him for herself."

"That's nasty." The class representative sipped her chocolate, noticing her friend's critical gaze. Quickly she swallowed. "I mean in the movie. It's something else with you. Did it work?"

Sighing, the Masuda girl rolled her eyes. "No. She turned him down."

"Pity."

"I'm not giving up yet. She just has to get rid of her infatuation with Wataru before I can tell her how things are."

Understanding, Nisha nodded. "Otherwise it will hit her too hard."

"I agree."

The shapeshifter looked away and raised her hand. Yuna glanced over and saw from the corner of her left eye that Yukiko waved at them. She raised her hand as well, then turned back to her friend.

"By the way, we have inherited the estate," said the blue-haired.

"Wow. Then you're rich, right?"

Reluctantly, Yuna nodded. "Yes. But somehow I don't feel different."

The cat girl giggled. "Of course not. You're still the same person. But you have a lot more options now. How does Yui handle it?"

"Very good, I guess. We'll probably have some trouble with your mother."

"Why?" Nisha wondered.

"She really wanted us to put the money into a foundation that will donate money to the city, but we decided against it."

"That's your business." The class representative ran her fingers through her hair. "Sometimes she is just too much of a politician."

"Really." Yuna grabbed the last piece of chocolate, but then she put down the treat and shoved it over to her friend. "Here. You can have it."

"Will I not get fat then?"

Both girls laughed. "Then you'll just turn yourself into a thinner version of yourself."

"Good idea." The praline disappeared in the mouth of the cat girl. "Did you already agree on the move?"

"Not really, but we're all in favor of it. It would be really nice to live there." For a moment, Yuna thought of the property. "I could show it to you on Saturday, if you'd like. Yui also wants to go back anyway, and Ayumi too."

"That would be nice."

"We have our own Onsen there. And a pool. That's so crazy."

The gray-haired girl smiled. "That sounds really great. And you would then live closer to me."
