𝐓𝐇𝐄 moderately large green stretch of grass was bustling with town residents ⏤ all gathered here for Society Volunteer Day and all providing their assistance by helping out in any way they possibly could with the local people and the environment. Stefan was there talking to Mason, attempting to negotiate a peace truce with Mason similarly to how Damon had the night prior ⏤ unbeknownst to Mason, unlike Damon, Stefan actually meant each and every word; including the promises he made to keep his brother in line.

Mason, however, held lingering uncertainty about trusting either of them. "I made that same offer to your brother. He turned it down with a knife." He resorted blandly in response to Stefan's truce proposal.

"He made a mistake. I'm here to make sure that neither one of you make another one." Stefan retaliated though Mason remained unconvinced, watching him dubiously and inwardly pondering his next words when his eyes were captivated by someone in the distance.

Noticing Mason was evidently distracted by something, Stefan cocked his head over his shoulder, his gaze similarly landing on the beautiful blonde who was talking with Damon ⏤ or more accurately put arguing.

Stefan noticed Mason's face tighten at their interaction and feeling eyes on her shortly after, she turned towards the two boys before looking back at Damon and attempting to excuse herself. Of course, he clearly noted her intentions and tried stopping her but the blonde walked over to Stefan and Mason anyway. The elder Salvatore merely rolled his eyes before inconspicuously listening to the conversation that promptly followed.

"What's with all the tension?" Olivia asked, her gaze shifting curiously between Mason and Stefan.

Stefan smiled back at the girl before turning to Mason. "Just trying to work out a truce." He responded, using the tribrid's presence as an advantage point of sorts considering Mason blatantly trusted and cared for the girl.

Mason paused for a long moment, looking at Olivia who gave him a look, encouraging him to agree. However, the wolf remained sceptical and so simply moved to walk past Stefan with a glare. "Tell your brother to watch his back."

Olivia caught his arm and stopped him. "Mason." She said his name softly yet firmly at the same time, exchanging another look with the wolf who sighed heavily.

"I'm not trusting them." He denied instantly, glaring back over at Stefan and Damon who were watching him hatefully from behind the younger Salvatore's shoulder.

"You don't have to trust them." She remarked, pulling his attention back to her and meeting his eyes. "Just trust me, okay?" At her words, they both recalled their encounter the previous night in which she made a revelation about her true identity. She had trusted him with something she hadn't intentionally told anyone... ever. Now he needed to do the same and there was something about the hopeful glint in her eyes that made him agree without any hesitation.
