𝐅𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐊𝐄𝐑𝐒 of iridescent light from Alaric's flashlight illuminated the dark cramped tunnel system that stretched beneath the ground; enclosed in layers of stone. Elena, Damon and Olivia followed the hunter's lead as he guided them through the caves, attempting to locate the spot he and Damon had managed to discover the previous night ⏤ with the added help of Brady, of course.

"It should be right through here." The history teacher said as he guided them towards the peculiar yet intriguing markings he'd seen. He briefly glanced back to see Olivia a few steps behind him and Damon and Elena trailing at a moderate distance ⏤ Elena glancing warily at her surroundings whilst Damon blatantly kept his eyes on Olivia, the two seemingly having some awkward tension between them.

"And you really can't get it?" Elena turned to ask Damon despite her voice echoing off the empty walls, clear enough for everyone to hear.

"No." Damon pulled his gaze from the tribrid to face Elena just as Liv dared a look back at him. "Seems even the ancient Lockwoods were anti-vampire." He finished, his eyes drifting back over at Olivia, seeing how she'd react to his words. The girl simply broke direct eye contact with him and turned back around, refocusing her gaze in front of her as she picked up her pace slightly so she was walking in line with Alaric.

The history teacher himself threw a glare at Damon over his shoulder for how immature he was acting with his clear reference to Mason, presumably hoping to get a reaction out of the girl or maybe he was simply trying to determine whether or not she cared. Either way, he was acting childish and the hunter felt an array of sympathy for Liv due to how messed up and confusing the situation with Mason Lockwood was considering the encounter at the Grill the other day.

Ric waited several moments, trailing further ahead of Damon and Elena with Liv, noticeably hearing the two engross in a subtle conversation before he finally decided to speak up. "So... how are you holding up?"

"Good."

"Really?" He returned, surprised at how convincing her voice sounded. "I just figured with Mason back in town..." he drifted off before changing the course of his words when a new thought surfaced in his mind. "You sure he doesn't remember anything?"

"Yeah, trust me he won't be getting his memories back anytime soon," Olivia replied, keeping her gaze fixated on the endless rows of stone in front of her.

"How did that all even work?" He questioned, turning to her. "You said you knew a witch?"

"Yeah, she... I guess you could say she owed me a favour and managed to erase the majority of his memories about coming here ⏤ besides some of Tyler and Carol." Olivia returned and her story thankfully appeared to be convincing enough for Alaric to accept and not question further.
