𝐈𝐓 was simply another Hallucination. It couldn't possibly be anything else. A Hallucination ⏤ that was all. Olivia told herself, repeating those words over and over again to deteriorate the uneasy feeling rising inside her chest. Perhaps it was a dream. A dream ⏤ that's all it was. Though the more times she told herself those words in order to stabilise her growing uncertainty, the more she began to realise that this wasn't a dream or a hallucination. This was real.

Waking up after the previous night, Olivia had a severe headache and a mild subduing pain residing in all of her joints. She was utterly confused as to what the hell had happened last night ⏤ she didn't remember much following her trance, only obscure bits and pieces. However, currently, she was rather preoccupied with her current disorientation as to what the hell was happening right now.

All she knew was that one moment she was in a strange sleep-like state and the next her eyes opened ⏤ no light flooding her irises; just darkness. She flinched uncomfortably in her current position. She wasn't lying on Damon's bed but a hard wooden surface and after her eyes scarcely adjusted to the darkness, she realised she was retained in an ominous-looking box of sorts ⏤ a coffin.

It was happening again. It was happening again and there was nothing she could do about it. This time it wasn't a dream or a hallucination, it was happening for real. Olivia had no idea what had happened last night but she knew one thing ⏤ she'd been buried... and this time, she'd been buried alive.

Morning streaks of sunlight shafted into the kitchen of the Salvatore Boarding House as Elena and the Salvatore brothers discussed the recent yet evidently drastic revelation made the previous night ⏤ about the locked coffin and who was inside. "Apparently, it was their mother, Esther," Elena informed the pair about what Elijah had told her last night.

"As in the Original Witch?" Stefan clarified in mild disbelief.

"What? How is she even alive?" Damon queried before Elena had the chance to respond. "Thought her hybrid freak show of a son ripped her heart out a thousand years ago."

Elena sighed, feeling relatively clueless about everything herself. "I don't know. I'm guessing she has a couple connections in the witching community." She shrugged. "Elijah said that she wants to live in peace with her family... including Klaus."

"She was supposed to be the weapon to help us kill Klaus." Stefan sighed in frustration. All of their time and effort spent revolving around that stupid coffin was evidently for nothing.

Damon rolled his eyes ⏤ not at anyone in particular but the entire situation as a whole. "Anyone else feeling a little used right now?"

Elena's lips parted, about to say something more when the ringing of the old-fashioned doorbell erupted quietly throughout the first floor of the Boarding House, drawing everyone's attention. "Who's that?"
