𝐅𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐓 darkness remained, hovering over the small town due to the early morning; bright rays of light and blurs of colour yet to subdue as the sun hadn't yet risen. It was the following day: April 27th ⏤ a day Olivia wasn't too fond of for personal reasons, aside from ones linking to or regarding the previous night.

"One crap day followed by another," Olivia muttered to herself underneath her breath as she stood in front of a broad mirror, scanning over her skin for what felt like the seventh time this morning. Thankfully there were no bruises present or scars or cuts for that matter and all blood had been thoroughly vanquished ⏤ not including the crimson liquid still staining most of the tiles in her bathroom.

Pulling her hair up messily to retain it from falling in front of her face, Olivia turned scarcely to her side to see Katherine leant against the doorway to the bathroom, watching the tribrid with her arms folded over her chest. "How are you holding up?" The brunette asked.

"Surprisingly," the blonde began, fully turning to face her. "I feel pretty good." She revealed with evidently mixed feelings that Katherine similarly shared at her response. "Really good," Olivia added, sceptical of her own words as they left her lips.

"I guess triggering your healing factor worked then." Katherine returned, remembering the explanation Liv had given her after she discovered the tribrid's unconscious body the other day; collapsed in the bathroom with blood pooling around her and deep unhealed slits across her arms.

"I think it was something else." Olivia differed.

"What do you mean something else?"

"I was bleeding out for a solid couple of hours before I actually started healing." She began to voice her conflicted thoughts. "I guess it was a result of finally paying back the price."

Katherine rolled her eyes internally at those words ⏤ she had also been given the rundown on how this whole price scenario worked. Didn't that ruin the entire concept of being an all-powerful unique crossbreed? "Either way, I don't think you should use dark magic anymore." The brunette told her, causing a smile to spread across Liv's face, contrasting greatly from her previous expressions over the last few hours.

"Why? You worried about me?" She joked with a playful look in her eyes, knowing it would annoy the vampire greatly.

"I have my reasons for wanting to keep you alive." She returned, her expression blank and unreadable as she tried to sound convincing, knowing she could never really open up about her real emotions.
