The next step in their journey has Varian both excited, and nervous. The black rocks are leading them across the ocean —the ocean! Varian has never been across water like this before, and he knows Rapunzel hasn't either. There is a lot about it that sounds fun, but also a lot that sounds dangerous. Who knows what could happen?

As the gang began to wonder how exactly they were going to cross, Varian suggested transforming their caravan into a boat. He sketched out the design for it, helped them put it together, and before long the caravan was ready to hit the water, sails and all. Now they float along peacefully, enjoying the sound of the waves gently lapping against the side of the boat and the salty smell of the air.

Eugene is at the wheel. Lance is adjusting the rudder. Cassandra is checking the sails. Varian is helping Hook Foot roll up a bundle of rope. Ruddiger is napping in the crow's nest. Maximus and Fidella are just happy to have a break from pulling the caravan.

Rapunzel sits on top of the caravan, sketching in her diary, Pascal on her shoulder. "Pascal, is there anything better than the sun on your face, and the wind blowing through your hair?" When Pascal gives her a confused squeak, she giggles as she gives him a scratch on his head. "Well, blowing through your scales?"

As the wind blows harder, the boat picks up speed. "You know, I gotta admit," Eugene says. "When I saw the black rock trail was leading us across the water, I had my doubts about converting the caravan into a boat."

"Maybe now you'll stop doubting all of my ideas," Varian jokes, climbing up to Eugene's level.

Suddenly, they hear thunder as the sky begins to darken. "As it turns out, those doubts were not completely unfounded," Eugene says as lightning streaks across the sky.

Varian feels fear start to creep in. The waves are growing larger as the storm approaches right on top of them. Pascal crawls up to the warning bell to try to ring it, but before he can Cassandra clangs her sword against it loudly. "Storm!" She shouts as the rain begins to pour and the boat rocks back and forth.

"Don't worry!" Lance says, licking his finger and sticking it into the wind. "According to my calculations, we should just miss it."

A large wave forms in front of them, and crashes down on top of the boat. If they weren't already soaked all the way through their clothes, they are now. Varian coughs, the water having gotten in his mouth.

"When will you people learn to ignore the things I say?!" Lance screams.

"We already do!" Varian shouts back. "From now on, just leave the 'calculations' to me!"

The wind blows stronger and stronger, making it difficult for any of them to walk around or even stand up straight. "Listen up!" Rapunzel shouts from atop the caravan. "The most important thing is to remain calm."
