3rd Person POV

"I-I'm what?" She asked her mother who was crying. The way Edaline smiled made Sophie feel like she wanted to cry. Edaline led her over to the cot as Elwin joined the other two men outside the room to let the two girls have some mother daughter time.

Sophie was shocked.

She was pregnant? How?

Okay, well, that was a stupid question. Her and Keefe had never used protection, but Sophie had never made the connection of how lucky she had been not to get pregnant in the last few months. She berried her face in her hands, tears coming out of her eyes.

But they weren't happy tears.

"Oh Sophie, I'm so happy," Edaline whispered to her daughter. Sophie looked up, and when Edaline noticed how Sophie didn't have a smile on her face, the mothers smile immediately faded.

"Sophie, what's wrong?" Edaline asked her daughter. Sophie sobbed a bit, sniffling and trying to take a smooth, deep breath. But she chocked up with tears that didn't seem to want to stop coming out.

"I'm only nineteen, mom! I can't even drink yet, and neither can Keefe! I'm still practically a teenager! Keefe might as well be, he sure acts like a teenager," Sophie told her mother, wiping her tears away with the back of her hand. "We aren't even married, how are we supposed to raise a kid?" Edaline looked at her daughter with a soft smile on her lips. Sophie sniffled again.

"Why are you smiling?"

Edaline let out a small sigh, turning away from her daughter.

"Do you want a daughter?" Edaline asked. "And answer truthfully." Sophie kept down another round of tears, staring down at her belly. She couldn't believe a child would seen be growing in their. That tiny spot in her stomach.

"Yes, but not right now, I haven't- how am I supposed to- I can't," she stumbled around with her words. Edaline turned back to her daughter, giving her a death stare.

"Sophie, you defeated an organization of wanted criminals that the council has been looking for for years! You defeated them all on your own!" Edaline said. But Sophie shook her head, gasping for breath as she felt another wave of tears coming.

"My friends helped," she told her mom with a groggy voice. Edaline smiled, nodding.

"And what makes you think they won't be there for you now?" Edaline asked. She reached over to Sophie's belly, pointing. "For her?" Sophie sniffled, giving out a small laugh as she wiped the dried tears from her eyes. But she suddenly raised an eyebrow, looking at her mom with a confused expression.

"She?" Sophie asked. Edaline smirked, pointing to her head.

"Mother intuition."

Sophie smiled, laughing.

"Just another power you will earn over another achievement," Edaline told her daughter. She smiled, wrapping her arms around her mom. She squeezed as hard as she could, wiping her wet cheek against her mom's warm sweater.

"Thank you, mom," Sophie whispered. Edaline smiled against her daughter's shoulder, pulling away.

"I also was in quite a shock when I found out I was pregnant with Jolie, but I soon found out she would hopefully become my best friend. And that's exactly what happened," Edaline told Sophie, rubbing her own arm. "That's why it was so hard losing her. Not only did I lose my daughter, but I lost my best friend right along with her."

"I'm sorry, mom," Sophie whispered after a few seconds of silence. Edaline nodded, wiping her eyes and standing up from the cot, her smile coming back.

"Mom?" Sophie asked when she found her mom walking toward the door. She fiddled with her fingers, biting her lip. She then looked at her mom, pulling out an eyelash and sending it off her finger with a wish. "How do I tell Keefe?"

Edaline bit her lip, looking to the door.

The memories of how she had told Grady came flooding back.

He was kissing her neck in bed, and she was going along with it. Edaline was just turning twenty nine when she had found out she was pregnant with Jolie. She hadn't told Grady, and he didn't expect a thing.

He was spooning her from behind, his hands coming up from his chest to around her waist, to softly massaging her breasts. Edaline softly moaned, reaching up to Grady's cheek and softly caressing it from in front. His tongue came from between his lips as he let it run along her neck skin, causing a shiver to run down her neck and a moan to escape her lips.

"Grady," Edaline softly whispered as he took his hands off her and removed his shirt. He flipped them over so he was on top of his fiance.

He had proposed a few days before, and Alden had said he was going to plan the wedding.

He hadn't met Della yet, he was watching someone else at the moment.

Grady began removing Edaline's shirt, and his fiance watched as the bulge in his pants grew. Grady grinned down at his soon to be wife, reaching for her pants, but she quickly grabbed his hand, realizing she shouldn't be doing this. It might not be good for the baby. It could hurt the baby if not done properly.

"Wait, Grady," she told him, breathlessly. He looked down at her as he panted, waiting for her to state her reason. "I-I have something to tell you," Edaline said nervously to him. She stood up from the bed, waving him out of the house.

He had surprised her with a house the day after he had proposed. She had immediately fell in love with Havenfield, and loved the idea of taking care of all sorts of different species of animals. Grady seemed to like the idea, too.

Edaline let her fiance out and onto the white porch, waving to the swing. He looked at her with a confused look, sitting down on the rocking swing. She sat down next to him, taking a deep breath.

"I'm pregnant, with your daughter."

"There will be a time," Edaline told her daughter, unlocking the door

"There will be a time," Edaline told her daughter, unlocking the door. "You'll know when."

Aw, I love Edaline and Sophie.
