Unsurprisingly, Christina and I didn't last (we were in the seventh grade after all). After Christina, the girls pushed me into more and more relationships. Somehow, by the time I left middle school, I had gone out with all the girls in that group.

Except one.

(I bet you know which one.)

But that didn't matter. None of these relationships counted. They were awkward group movie dates and hanging out at the park hoping our parents didn't drive by. Sure, they were technically "relationships" but I didn't think of those girls as "ex's." It was different than that.

Maybe it's what all middle school relationships are like. Or maybe I'm just insane and a weirdo. Julie would say both, and she'd probably be right. Either way, I dated a lots of girls that I don't consider real ex-girlfriends and I'm not really sure how I got talked into dating them in the first place.

"So you're dating Christina now?"

"That's the rumor."

"Is it going well?"

"As well as can be expected."

"I'm glad."

"Bully for you."

"No need to be all annoyed."

"I just don't need your approval."

"I wasn't offering it."

"Just leave me alone. I have more important things than defend myself to you."

"Did you seriously just say that?"

"Do you need me to repeat myself?"

"Fine. I'm leaving."

"And then I can have some peace."
