Sleeping until roughly midnight, Zhu Liwei slowly rose up from his sleep. His movements were very light, hardly making any noise, and naturally he didn't disturb his lover that was currently curled up deep asleep. The man looked at Chen Ling for a long time, until finally his eyes became astringent, and then he trembled and lowered his head.
His movements were soft and reverent, as if he regarded her as a priceless gem. However, if one looked closely, one could see a few strands of madness in his eyes, which transformed his soft exterior into a vicious one.
Forgive me, baby. Zhu Liwei kissed Chen Ling's forehead. It seems that I have to kill your brother for the second time.
He quietly got out of bed and tiptoed out of the room, making sure that he didn't wake up his lover in the process.
When he was out of the room, he slowly made his way out to the backyard. As his room was located at the end of the corridor, he had to quieten his footsteps to avoid alerting the rest of his teammates who were dreaming in wonderland. He passed by several rooms, and just about to sigh a relief before a loud creak broke the silent atmosphere.
Zhu Liwei tensed up. His eyes narrowed in panic.
He waited a few more seconds in silence.
After realizing that no one had opened the door to their rooms, Zhu Liwei assumed he hadn't awakened anyone.
A sigh of relief escaped his lips.
He didn't realize that his slight movement had awoken the Zombie King, who was currently embracing a young man's body in his arms. Chen Hua's ruthless eyes shot open, a dark light flashed across his pupils as he directed his gaze towards the door.
Returning back to Zhu Liwei, the man had already arrived at the backyard. There were already five people sitting on the sheltered porch of the house. Three of those people were the men in his team: Fan Hua, leader of Group A, Zhuan Ye, a member of Group A, and Shen Zhong, the leader of Group B. The rest were women who consisted of Yi Ruolan, a member of Group E, and Fang Liyuan, a member from his group.
The appearance of their leader reinvigorated them, eliminating their irritation at being awakened in the middle of the night when they should have been resting.
"Leader." Those five people saluted.
"I appreciate your willingness to assist me in the middle of the night. If it wasn't for the urgency, I wouldn't have done this." Zhu Liwei started, "There's one thing that you all need to know, and I hope you can help me in solving this problem."
"What is it? We'll help you if it's within our capabilities." Fan Hua said firmly.
"I'm sure you all know of the man named Chen Hua in Group F?"
"Yes. What's wrong with him?"
"This might be shocking, and I'm sure you wouldn't easily accept this fact." Zhu Liwei ruffled his hair in frustration, "But that man.... He's a zombie."
"What?!" Shen Zong who had been silent all along shouted in surprise, and the rest of the teammates shot a glare at him to shut up.
Shen Zong cowered, and lowered his tone, "That's impossible, y'know. The man didn't show any signs of being a Zombie. Moreover, although he's a little cold, you can see signs of humanity when he treats this one other guy.. I think his name is Zhi An?"
Zhu Liwei pressed further, "If it was only that, I wouldn't even suspect him. But I saw him get injured once during our journey, and it healed with a tremendous speed. You must know that if a laceration 3 centimeters deep occurred, it's impossible to heal it in just a second."
