His mood has been souring pretty badly after he was slapped by his father. His ego and pride was nothing in front of the elder man, and the look his father gave him always made him lose his mind. It was the look of disappointment and loathe, filled with so much hate as if the elder man couldn't wait to erase his existence entirely. He was ready to punch anyone who blocked his path today, but apparently the young lady in front of him was not just 'anyone'.

He remembered his father last warning before he left. His mood soured again.

Fuck. How long do I have to refrain myself from beating up people?

Qi Cheng looked down on the young student puffing up her cheeks at him, her figure blocking his path. The girl had raised her head to look up to him, revealing the delicately beautiful facial features that were concealed. Her bright green eyes glared at him with indignation, her lips spouted words that were sure to set him off.

A new student, huh?

However, even so, Qi Cheng could not bring himself to get mad at her due to the fact that she reminded him so much of a certain man. Su Yun's figure flashed across his eyes for a second, before he quickly extinguished it.

Qi Cheng coughed, yet his eyes didn't strayed away from her, his eyes curiously looked over her once.

"You... what's your name?" Qi Cheng tried to maintain his cold look.

"Me?" The petite girl in front of him vigilantly looked up at him. "I'm Lian An."

"Ok, I'll remember you." Qi Cheng spoke coldly before walking past her, ignoring the young lady who still got her ankle bruised.

"You..!" Lian An almost exploded, before she finally sighed, looking at the young man's back.

Forget it. I won't meet him again anyway.

Hong Feng, who saw her friend escape from the calamity unscathed, finally relaxed her tensed shoulders. She then remembered the handsome man who stopped her a few minutes before, wanting to thank him as she turned around, but his figure was already long gone from her sight.

Hong Feng sulked in disappointment.

Who is that man?

He's so my type.

Well, it's fine. I'll just ask for his name when we meet again. She thought as she walked to Lian An, lifting her friend to support her limping body. Xiao Cui ran over towards their figure from afar, before halting beside them.

"Let's go. I'll bring you to the infirmary." Hong Feng said, as she brought a hand to wrap around Lian An's waist to support her.

"Thank you, but it's fine," Lian An weakly smiled, slightly pushing her friend's body, "The bruise on my ankle is not that bad. I can still walk. Let's just go to the next lecture or we'll be late for it."

Hong Feng sighed, "Are you sure? But tell me if you can no longer bear it okay? I will bring you to the infirmary then."

"Mhm."

~

"Hey." A cool voice called out to him, yet Qi Cheng kept walking.

"Hey, the black haired student over there, I'm calling you."

Black hair? Everyone is black haired.

"Black hair student! The one with the red cheek!"

Red cheek? What is he—

"No, I mean, yes! The one who just got slapped on the cheek this morning—"

Qi Cheng immediately halted his steps as he turned around. His cold gaze deepened, as if trying to freeze the university doctor in front of him.

"You saw?" His voice was low and dangerous.

The young doctor also stopped a few metres away from him, his cool voice indifferent. "What do you mean?"

"The slap."

"Ah...", the young doctor came to a realisation, "Rather, would anyone not know from the handprint on your cheek?"

"!!!" Qi Cheng immediately blushed, the tip of his ears turning red as he quickly clutched his cheek, covering up the hand print.

"I saw it. You don't need to hide it anymore." Su Yun chuckled. "Rather than your cheek..., didn't it hurt more?"

He said, pointing to a certain part of his body.

"What?" Qi Cheng gloomily looked down, before realising that the wound on his arm that was treated this morning reopened again, causing the white gauze to turn red. His white sleeves were slightly stained with blood. "Oh."

The wound must have reopened during his fight with the other student.

"Come with me." The young doctor quickly claimed his hand, dragging him along with him. "I'll patch you up again. Don't worry, this time I'll make sure it's tight enough that you can use your arm to beat up more unscrupulous brats."

Qi Cheng blanked out when he heard his remark. A stunned expression donned his face.

"So how long have you been a delinquent?" The man continued to blabber on, "I heard from others that you've been beating people up since you were a high schooler or did you secretly beat people up when you were still in elementary school? So how many people have you beaten up? You must've hold some kind of record, yeah? 50 people? 100 people? No... that's still too little, how about 300 people?"

He continued to watch the man in front of him as he continued to blabber nonsensical words, willingly allowing himself to be dragged along.

"You... Why are you not afraid of me? Did you not hear of the rumours that circulated around me?"

"Hm?" The man halted his steps, his eyes looked back to stare at him. "Why should I? I know you punch him not because you like fighting but probably because the student did something wrong."

"How do you know?" Qi Cheng curiously asked him, "Rather, why do you believe me so easily?"

The man looked up at him. His cold indifferent eyes gazed back at him, and although it remained the same, Qi Cheng couldn't help but gotten his breath hitched. The man's flat expression changed by the curve on his lips, smirking at him as he revealed a smile. A smile so small yet Qi Cheng found himself lost in it.

"A student who knows how to say thank you to show their appreciation is always a good student."

Due to his words, Qi Cheng remembered the scene in the infirmary when he thanked this young doctor after bandaging him.

Just from that?

Just a simple thank you, he believes me wholeheartedly?

My father that brought me up for his entire life did not even want to listen to my excuses, yet this man simply trusts me blindly?

Qi Cheng brought his gaze to the man in front of him, his soft black hair ruffled against the wind and the hazy glow enveloped his whole body just like a fairy in spring. Qi Cheng felt a small part of his heart suffused with warmth at the man's blind trust, his heart fluttering slightly.

Thump.

His fixated gaze looked down on his hand that was enveloped by the man's warm one, the slender fingers that enclosed his. It fits his perfectly, just like a puzzle piece that finally completed his heart.

Ding! [Progress bar: 2%. Continue to work hard.]

A hint of smile played at the corner of his thin lips. The young man tightened his grip on his hand unconsciously, his voice soft as he whispered.

"En. Okay."
