The two men went to the cafeteria located on the first floor to grab their lunch. When they arrived, they saw that the place was already packed with both local and foreign customers, but with the additional students from their university, the cafeteria became even more jam-packed.
Su Yun saw Lian An and her group sitting in one of the tables at one corner, talking between themselves with great interest.
He looked at his phone, and saw the date of today. A bad premonition came up on his mind.
Ah, it should be today...
Something bad would happen today, he could stop it, but he wouldn't especially when it had no relation whatsoever with his target.
Su Yun retracted his sight as he went in the queueing line, Qi Cheng following behind him.
As soon as they finished their lunch, Su Yun and Qi Cheng quickly gathered in the lobby, where a few students had arrived earlier than them. On their backs were backpacks that were filled with necessities for hiking, all heaved onto shoulders that looked too frail to bear it.
"We'll wait for fifteen more minutes before departing." The head teacher said. His eyes scanning the small crowd before looking down on his watch.
Right on time at 1 p.m, the group departed for the mountains.
The mountain path started out wide with small rocks that littered the ground, an indication of a man-made trail left behind by the past hikers. Wild shrubbery and bushes grew underneath the canopy of the forests.
The group of students were feeling exceptionally energetic and excited, anticipating the view that waited for them high up on the mountains. But the feeling did not last for long as the path narrowed in the rocky passages, leading upwards towards the peak.
Each step was a steep climb, and with the additional harshness of the midday sun, the students' ankles quickly grew numb; their environment did little to make the steep incline any easier. Harsh groans and unaltered complaints spilled out of their lips as they continued to climb.
With every step their feet slipped back a little, there were people around who acted as a support as they continued to pave the way onto the terrain.
As they went further and further up, the path of the stone rose up in a rugged arrangement, the light that streamed through the dense leaves played with the grey surfaces, as if it were the fingers of the pianist upon gentle keys.
Two hours of climbing slowly passed. The head teacher who led the group finally heard the roar of a body of water.
"We're almost there!" He grew excited.
As their pace increased and they drew closer, the noise increased steadily.
The dense forestry opened up into a wide opening where a huge 8 meter waterfall laid between two huge boulders. The curtain of crystal water tumbled down the hillside before slamming into the water bed, creating small splotches of explosion. Sunlight streamed down above it, creating a spectacular scene enough to make the audience exclaimed in awe.
The head teacher turned back as he shouted, "Students, we will take a 30 minutes break before continuing again!"
The students who had been groaning in pain for half of their journey finally slumped onto the ground in succession. They took off their burdensome backpack, their muscles stretching out to relieve the tension in their shoulders.
The female students revealed an expression full of fatigue and exhaustion, the excitement that they had before this journey had vanished halfway through. However one of them, with distinctive eyes brimming with vitality, created a very contrasting picture.
