Doing tasks under the control of others is suffering. Happiness is being under self-control. This is the narrow definition of pleasure and pain. (4.160)
If a man is self-sufficient and free he will not go the way of Adharma. All gods are self-existent. This world is self-contained. If one is with the self he interacts with all. (12.118-125)
