Colby's POV

"Where was he spotted?" Will asked as we walked down the hallway.

"Still posing as a cop. He went to Julia's mom's house." I explained, making sure I had my gun on me.

I always had it but I couldn't trust Julia to not take it from me. She has really become a piece of work.

She was much more submissive when we were dating. I guess that's what happens when you are in charge of four kids all by yourself.

Julia was always strong and defiant though, so I guess that didn't change at all.

"What were you doing there?" He asked as I sighed.

"Julia wanted to go. I don't know what happened but her mom took the kids from her. She wanted to just see them." I explained as we got to the car.

"Jeremy and Logan are going to follow us for back up." Will explained as we got there. "Great." I said then started the car.

"What's the plan?" Will asked. "If he's still there we capture and bring him in for questioning. I don't know what the governor wants from him so we will hold him captive until I get word." I said as he nodded.

"And if he's not there?" Will asked as I shrugged. "We find him. No more questions." I said simply.

I was done with the questioning. I was done with people not trusting me and my abilities.

I sped down the road, being careful to take paths that I knew cops wouldn't be on.

Even if I were to get pulled over, I would get out of it. It was just that it would waste my time.

I didn't really realize how crucial the crime world was to the political world.

Gangs were crucial for elections and for politicians to keep their name as clear as possible.

I was basically untouchable as long as I wasn't killing random people and causing issues.

When we got to the house, I parked the car exactly where we were not even an hour ago. I let out a sigh of relief, seeing the cop car still sitting in front of the house.

"He's still here." I said then texted Jeremy, giving him instructions.

"Do you think he's expecting us?" Will asked as I shrugged. "I don't know. Are you still in contact with Julia's mom?" I asked, focusing on my phone.

"I've given her a few updates since Quill died. Why?" He asked as I nodded.

"I need you to go and check on the family. Make sure none of them were murdered by him." I explained as he nodded.

"Got it." He said as I looked up at the house. It felt like forever before the door was opening and Adam was standing there. He was talking to Julia's younger brothers.

Fuck, they had gotten old.

The last time I saw them they were kids but now they were basically teens. I shook my head, needing to regain focus.

"At least the two boys are safe." I said as they hugged him. The thought of them being close to this guy made me feel sick.

They had no idea who he was.

"Wait here." I said then grabbed a cloth and drenched it in chloroform before getting out of the car.

I snuck carefully to the side of Adam's car so I could catch him by surprise.

I listened carefully for his footsteps then sprung out at the right moment, covering his mouth and nose with the cloth.

He struggled for a second before he went unconscious.
