It's been a couple weeks since Colby started working again. I hardly ever saw him since he would leave early in the morning and would come home late at night.

I would try to stay up for him every night but by the time he got home he would shoo me off to the bedroom to get some sleep.

Sam and Kat were still here, staying with me all day every day.

I felt bad for them because they were trapped with me but they didn't seem to mind.

Kat and I would sleep in the bed, Sam would take the couch, and I wasn't even sure Colby slept here at all.

It broke my heart that he was always missing because I craved his presence. Every day was filled with fear and anxiety and all I wanted was to spend some time with him.

I knew he was working hard though.

"I don't know how you do this all the time, Jules. I'm so bored." Kat said as I sighed. "You get used to it." I said and pulled my legs to my chest.

"Maybe we can convince Colby to let us take you for a walk or something." Kat said as Sam shook his head.

"That's never gonna happen." He said with a laugh. "Ugh. Whyyyy?" Kat whined as the front door opened, revealing Colby.

"Why what?" He asked with a grin as he looked over at me. "What are you doing back so early?!" I asked and stood up so I could go hug him.

"Decided to have a short day." He said then looked at Sam and Kat.

"Feel free to go out on the town." He said as Kat stood up. "Thank GOD." She said causing Sam to laugh.

"Hold on, what's the catch?" Sam asked as Colby chuckled and wrapped his arms around my waist.

"No catch." He said then looked at me. "Alrighty then, that's our cue to go." Sam said then took Kat's hand and led her out of the apartment.

As soon as they were gone I looked up at Colby and brought my hand to his cheek.

"I missed you." I said quietly as he nodded. "I'm sorry I've been away a lot." He said and looked at me with soft eyes.

"It's okay, I'm just glad you're still alive." I said causing him to chuckle. "Alive and better than ever." He said then kissed me.

"What are we gonna do?" I asked as we pulled away from eachother. "Can you uh...go to the bedroom?" Colby asked as a chill ran down my spine.

"Colby...I love you but I'm not ready to.." I said but was interrupted. "No no..not that. I know you aren't ready for that, I just need you to go to the bedroom so I can go grab something real quick." He said as I pursed my lips.

"Okay.." I said suspiciously then turned and went into the bedroom.

Colby was definitely acting really weird but it was nothing I wasn't used to. He was a complex person who I learned to love more than anything ever.

I sat in the bedroom for a little while before Colby finally came to get me.

"Okay, come on." He said then held his hand out so I could take it. I took his hand and let him lead me out to the living room.

Everything looked normal until I saw twinkling lights hanging up outside on the balcony.

There was also a table and two chairs with what looked like two steak dinners on it.

"What's this?" I asked as Colby led me outside. "I don't feel comfortable bringing you out of this apartment just yet, but I wanted to take you on a nice date." He explained as I smiled, turning towards him.
