"What do you think?" Colby asked as I looked at the rack of dresses in front of me.

"I think that whenever I wear dresses like these they get covered on blood so I should get the cheapest one." I said with a sigh.

"Not this time, love." He said then pulled out a dark blue dress. "This would look good with your eyes." He said causing me to laugh.

"Who are you?" I asked and took the dress from him. "Someone who wants to see you in that dress." He said with a grin.

"I'll try it on, but no promises that it's the one I get." I said then grabbed a black silk dress and a pale pink dress from the rack.

"I'm gonna try these on." I said then turned towards the dressing room.

"Okay, I'll be right here." Colby said then sat in a chair that outside of the dressing room. I smiled at him for a second then went to go try on the dresses.

I decided to try the blue one first so I could show Colby. It was a nice dress, but I didn't like how it fit me.

I walked out of the dressing room and towards him, causing him to look up. "You're beautiful." He said quietly as I laughed.

"Yeah, too bad I'm not getting this one." I said and looked down. "You don't like it?" Colby asked as I shook my head, pulling at the loose fabric.

"Doesn't fit like I want it to." I said with a sigh, then turned to go back into the fitting room so I could try on the other dresses.

I ended up liking the long silk black dress the most since it hugged my curves and fit like a glove.

I decided to not show Colby what I looked like in the dress, so he could be surprised when I got ready.

"Ready?" I asked as Colby stood up. "Yeah, did you want to grab some lunch?" He asked as he took the dress from me.

I couldn't help but smile at how normal things were right now.

Part of me knew Colby had at least one weapon on him right now in case something happened but I tried to ignore it.

"I'd love that." I said as he took my hand. "Let's go then." He said then led the way to the register so he could pay for my dress.

Once it was paid for we made our way to a little restaurant that was next door to the store we were just in.

"Thanks for the dress." I said as Colby pulled out my chair so I could sit. "You're welcome. I can't wait to see it on you." He said with a grin.

"Hopefully no blood will ruin it." I said as he took my hand. "Stay by my side and nobody will hurt you." He said quietly as I nodded.

"We'll be glued at the hip." I said causing him to grin. "Y'know...I never thought we would be back together like this." Colby said as I nodded.

"Trust me when I say I never thought I would even see you again." I said, remembering how broken I was while he was away.

The first couple months after the breakup hurt so bad. It felt like I would never recover but the only reason I kept it together was because I had to for my siblings.

Once the pain went away, anger replaced it. I hated Colby and went from begging the universe to bring him back to me, to never wanting to see him again.

That is until he was brought back to me.

We needed eachother and I didn't realize it until I thought he was dead.

It rocked me to my core, showing me how badly I needed him in my life. I didn't want to live in a world where he wasn't there.

That's how I knew I loved him.

Colby and I ended up eating lunch together before we made our way back to the hotel to get ready.

"Did you need to shower?" Colby asked as I nodded. "Yeah." I said as he chuckled and wrapped his arm around my waist, lifting me up with ease.

"Stopppp!" I said with a laugh as he carried me towards the bathroom. "Gotta save water." He said nonchalantly.

We ended up having a nice long steamy shower together before we started getting ready separately.

"When do we need to leave?" I asked and started curling my freshly dried hair.

"Whenever. We can be fashionably late." Colby said as he brushed his teeth. "That would be rude, wouldn't it?" I asked and watched as the corner of his mouth lifted into a smile.

"It's Sam's party, Jules. He won't think we are rude. We'll try to be on time but I don't want you to feel rushed."  He said then rinsed his mouth out.

"Although, you really don't need any makeup." He said causing me to smile. "You're so cheesy." I said as he walked over and wrapped his arms around me.

"Mhm. I mean it though, you're so fucking beautiful." He said and looked at me through the mirror. "Yeah, you're not too bad yourself." I said and leaned my head back.

"If you keep this up, I'll never be ready." I said causing him to chuckle. "Right." He said then unwrapped his arms from me.

"Tell me when to get dressed." He said then smacked my ass before leaving the room. I chuckled then finished curling my hair.

I was excited to actually get dressed up. I almost never got to do that since someone was always out to kill me.

I was hoping that this time wouldn't end in bloodshed but I was prepared for anything.

Once my hair was done I moved onto my make up. It had been such a long time doing my makeup that I genuinely didn't know where to start.

I decided to do a bolder eye with just a glossed lip, which ended up looking really good on me.

I was impressed that I was able to pull it together and that I actually felt really pretty.

As soon as I put my dress on I felt like a princess, matching it with the strapped black heals that Colby packed for me.

"Colby." I said loud enough for him to hear from the other room. "Yeah?" He asked as I ran my fingers through my hair. "Get dressed." I said as he popped his head into the room.

"Damn." He said with a grin, looking me up and down as he walked over.

"You look really good, Jules." He said and wrapped his arms around me. "I clean up nicely." I said and wrapped my arms around his neck.

"You're always beautiful." He said then brought his lips to mine. I melted against him, moaning ever so slightly at how passionately he was kissing me.

We kissed for a minute before I pulled away. "Get dressed." I said and brought my hand to his cheek. "I have something for you first." He said then kissed me one more time before turning to go back into the bedroom.

I sighed and leaned against the counter, waiting for him to come back. When he did, he was holding a necklace in his hand.

"Is that the necklace that you got me for my birthday?" I asked as he nodded.

"Yeah. You left it at the LA house and Sam gave it to me. I wanted to give it back to you." He said and turned me around so he could put it around my neck.

"Thank you." I said and watched him through the mirror. "You're welcome, sweetheart." He said then kissed my head. "I'll be ready in five." He said then went to go get changed.

I hated that I was really excited about this banquet. I was trying to desperately to not get my hopes up about how this would go.

I wanted to have a normal night with my love and with the friends I once considered family. It would be so nice to see them and get to hang out with them again.

I just had to remember that this wasn't a normal party at all.

It was an event where a lot of dangerous people would be.

A lot of people who were probably out to get me.
