I was sick of being dragged around like a child.

I was sick of being the center of danger and I was sick of Colby being around me.

I was sick of him choosing when he wanted to be nice and caring. It was exhausting and I didn't want to listen to it anymore.

"I'm sorry you have to go." Kat said as she gave me a hug. "Tell everyone I said bye." I said as Colby came out of his room.

"We gotta go." He said as I nodded. "I know." I grumbled then turned to Sam.

"It was good to see you, Jules. Call me whenever." He said and gave me a hug.

"If I can ever find my phone again." I mumbled, knowing that it was probably sitting on the side of the road somewhere.

"Colby's got my number. He'll give it to you, and he'll get you a new phone." He said and looked over at Colby.

"Yeah yeah, let's go." He said then went down the stairs.

I sighed and followed behind him, even though I wanted so desperately to just run away and hide.

I was sick of the running and I was sick of the hiding.

It wasn't fair to have to live like that.

When we got to the car, Colby looked over at me. "I'm really sorry about this." He said quietly as he started the car.

"You keep saying that." I said and looked out the window, away from him.

"I mean it." He said with a sigh. "Mhmm." I said and kept looking out the window.

When drove in silence, which was somewhat awkward.

Colby didn't want to admit he was wrong and I wasn't going to talk until he did.

What he was doing was horrible and manipulative.

It felt like our interactions were only on his terms and it pissed me off.

We drove for a while before Colby pulled into the driveway of a random house.

It was in the middle of the woods and felt so distant from everywhere else in the world.

"Where the hell are we?" I asked and looked over at him.

"We're hiding." He said as I squinted at him.  "I can't believe you never learn." I said causing him to look over.

"What are you talking about?" He asked as I crossed my arms.

"The more you pretend to care about me the worse this gets. You know this." I said as he rolled his eyes.

"It's not that simple, Julia." He said as I nodded. "Yeah, it's even more simple. Let me go and I'll be out of your hair. You can go back to your very violent life, taking over my dad's gang." I said causing him to raise his brows.

"And what will happen to you, sweetheart?" He asked as I breathed a laugh.

"I'll be killed." I said with a shrug. "No, actually." He said and looked at his nails nonchalantly.

"You're to pretty to kill. They'll groom you and sell you for sex. You'd make a lot of damn money that's for sure." He said causing my blood to run cold.

"What Adam did to you would happen every day for the rest of your life but with different guys who would pay money to do it. You wouldn't be a human you'd be a sex doll." He said then looked up at me.

"Is that what you would want?" He asked as I swallowed hard, feeling my stomach ache.

"Exactly. Now just trust me and come on." He said as I shook my head. "And why would I trust you?" I said quietly, my voice hardly a whisper.
