"Hey, mom," Gerard said as he cautiously returned to his apartment, Donna relaxing on the sofa watching a television show. Either she's been here the whole time or she's a really good actor.
"Hey, Gen," she smiled as he sat down next to her.
At the mention of that name, Gerard said, "Um...actually, I have something to tell you."
"Yeah?"
"So, Frank and I were talking and...I want to be called Gerard from now on," he said, his eyes shut in heed.
Donna was quiet for a moment, then a huge, proud grin lifted her cheeks and she said, "Gerard's a nice name."
