--ONE YEAR AND THREE MONTHS LATER—

"Ev, can we get an over the shoulder, let's see the back!" "Everleigh! Can you look down here!" I can't decide right now if it is good to be home or not. The past year has been insane. I finished the comedy with Emma Roberts and Melissa McCarthy, had more auditions and was offered more roles, was at the studio almost every day with Hailee, turned 17, Lachie and I are at our strongest point possible, filmed a new thriller movie in England for four months maybe 13 months ago, then came home for two days and then over to DC to film another new movie with Mila Kunis. I landed home in LA three hours ago and was at The Skinny White Overrule premiere now and I had the Emma Roberts and Melissa McCarthy movie premiere two weeks ago when I had time off and then in two days I have the thriller movie called Writer premiere AND then I was going to New York for interviews then, to Indiana to film the movie Turtles All The Way Down, the book by John Green and I was playing the antagonist, Aza. Lachie and I worked out how we can make this work, long distance style and we have been great the past year. Anyways, the premiere. I had on a wine-red colored dress that had a low back and was tight but fanned out at the bottom with a short train. My hair was in a wavy low ponytail. Anna was here too but decided to wait for me at the other end of the carpet. I was just coming up to do interviews now. "Everleigh! Hi!" A lady with a lot of highlighter on called me over. "Hi." I smile. "You look stunning tonight." "Thank you very much." I adjust the train of my dress. "What are you wearing?" She asks. "This is Prada." I smile. They had lent me the dress for the premiere. "Did you have a good time making this movie?" She holds the mic up to me. "I had such a good time, the cast is great, Steve was incredible and Shailene and I are really good friends now." I tell her. "And before you go, what is the biggest thing you learned from the movie or most significant thing?" She asks. "That is such a hard question because the movie has a serious topic that needs to be handled and improved, what I learned was because there was a range of ethnicities, races, and people on set was that everyone has their own way of approaching things and handling things." I say, and I hadn't thought of that before that and I was proud of my answer. "Thank you very much Everleigh." The lady smiles. "Thank you." I move down the line of microphones and people with too much make up on slowly until I finally reach the end. "That was tiring." I approach Anna. "You look tired." She says. "Thank you." I yawn. "Are you going to make it through the after party?" Anna holds my arms. "I think so." I yawn again. "Maybe not. If you want to get home tell me." She looks me in the eye. I can feel my weight falling into her arms. I could literally sleep right now. "Ok, ok. Just make it through photos and then we can sneak out." She stands me up. "Because you can French exit, right?" I ask. "I'm pro." Anna flips her hair. I get called over to have a group photo taken back on the carpet, then Shae and I have some together as well. As soon as I was done, Anna let me go. We went to the bar where the party was before everyone else and went through the back.

--THREE DAYS LATER—

"Ev! We got to go!" Anna screams from downstairs. I had the premiere of the thriller Writer movie I had done last night and I am still recovering from it. It was the busiest, loudest event I have ever been to. Since the director was Darren Aronofsky, one of the best directors ever, in my opinion, it was said by many people to be 'the movie of the year'. Darren had handpicked me to play Rainn, the writer in the movie after seeing Doors of Silk, my first ever movie and hearing from other people I worked with, which I was honored. I was doing the last lot of press for it today. I was going to Wired, to do an autocomplete interview and to Ellen again. I grab my bag with my change of clothes in it and meet Anna in my car. I was driving so Anna had the music, and what a surprise, Beyoncé. I was wearing a light blue chiffon blouse tucked into a white denim skirt and white heels. When we got to Wired, they were ready for me. It turns out a lot of people have googled me. 'Everleigh Kendrick Age', was the first one. "I am 17." I say, and continue going on answering searches about my height, birthday, mom, movies, Jennifer Lawrence, boyfriend, and even dad. "My dad, is my dad." Is all I say. Once we were done at that, I drove to Ellen, but Anna had to go do press for her Kristen Bell movie. When I got there, I had to change into my new outfit, a navy and white striped jumpsuit with beige heels.

"How are you?" Ellen asks when we sit down. "I am so good. And it is nice to be back!" I smile, excited. "Thank you for coming! So you have been very busy lately, correct?" She asks. I take a breath and pause to remember everything. "Very busy." I laugh. "Can you share?" She asks. "Sure. Ready? So, I filmed the comedy with Emma Roberts and Melissa McCarthy and the premiere was 6 days ago." The audience clapped. "I saw that, and was it improv or scripted?" She asks. "It was improv. My first full movie improv and it was so hard, Melissa McCarthy is too hard to keep a straight face around." I blush. "She is hilarious. And you are very much like your mom then if your improv was that great." Ellen says. "Aw thank you. And then I turned 17, and have been hanging out with Hailee Steinfeld at the studio." I tell her. "I saw on like, your social media. What have you been up to there?" Ellen asks. "Just listening and helping her with music." I vaguely answer. "Is she working on a new album?" Ellen crosses her legs and asks me casually, wanting me to share secrets. "I don't know, you'll have to ask her," I smirk. "Ok, I will." Ellen smiles. "Anyways, studio with Hailee, then I had been to the UK to film and then to DC after that. And the movie I filmed in England, Writer, we had the premiere last night." A photo of me comes up in a dark blue dress that draped to the floor, my hair was in a very high ponytail and gold makeup. "You look stunning. And so that comes out tomorrow in cinemas, but being me, I have seen it." Ellen tells me. "Oh good! How was it?" I sit back. "Definitely movie of the year." Ellen nods. "Thank you so much! I worked hard on that." I am flustered by that comment. "And you know the Oscars are coming up...." Ellen smiles. "I do know that." I blush. "Her performance in Writer, Oscar-winning worthy." She turns to the audience. I just beam and laugh a little. "Can you give a summary of what the movie is about?" She asks. "It revolves around a girl, Rainn who is a bit 'alternative' or gothic. And she likes to write about people, just from the street, people in school, her family. And let's say they are not the most positive things. So, what she writes seems to be happening and has consequences and she has to you know, work it out." I briefly explain. "That is the best I can do without spoiling it," I say. "Well, it makes me want to go again anyways. But what is in store for you next?" She asks. "Well, I fly out to New York tomorrow to get some things done and I think it was shared today that the John Green book, Turtles all the Way Down was being made into a movie, and I am going to shoot that," I tell her. "I am excited to see what you do next, but thank you for coming. It was great to see you." "Great to see you too." I smile. "Everleigh Kendrick everybody!" Ellen calls and gets up to dance, and I dance with her.
