Henry stops the cab a few miles away from Paradise High, as I instructed him to.
"Alright, this is your stop kid," he says. "Fare will be $92."
I pull out the cash from my pocket and hand him the hundred dollars.
"Keep the change," I say. "I enjoyed your company."
I say such only because I'm hoping it will ensure security with regards to what I said about aliens existing.
"You're a strange kid; I'll tell you that much," Henry says upon seeing and counting the money. "But I enjoyed your company too."
I smile as I exit the vehicle. Pixie hops out in front of me.
Henry rolls down the passenger window. "Take care of yourself kid. Don't get abducted," he jokes.
I only give a halfhearted chuckle. I wish he didn't say that out loud.
I watch him pull away and when the taxi is no longer in sight, I walk to the high school.
