That afternoon, Hari, Hermione and Ginny left the boys early and made their way up to Gryffindore tower.

Hari and Hermione made their way to their dorm while Ginny dashed off to get her robes. They entered the room to find Pavarti and Lavender were already there, along with Pavarti's twin sister Padma, who was in Ravenclaw.

"Hermione! Hari!" Lavendar brown squealed. She was already wearing a frilly pink dress and was attempting to charm her hair into even bigger ringlets. "I was starting to think you'd never show up."

Her gown wouldn't be out of place at a muggle party. I was an odd sort of shape, too many too big ruffles in Hari's opinion. She preferred a less bulky style, edging more towards pureblood fashion, which was heavily based on Victorian and Edwardian couture.

Just then Ginny burst through the door, carrying a giant bag. Ginny would be joining them because no other 3rd year Gryffindors had gotten a date to the ball.

Ginny pulled the dress out of the bag, and looked at it a bit sadly. "This used to be my grandmother's." She said, "But at least I don't need to wear the monstrocity that Ron's wearing." She chuckled.

The dress was an older simple style, victorian, but not too shabby. The colours were a bit faded, but still pretty.

At her request, Hari followed her into the bathroom to help do up the stay. Stays were earlier versions of the corset, the were made to fit perfectly, adding shape and support to the body, but not altering the shape like the corset.

Hari helped her fit it on over a thin cotton layer called a shift, before helping her lace it up. It was a very old dress.
