(I'd be lying if I said I didn't rewrite this chapter in about five different ways, they are all currently in my drafts haha but somehow this version is the one that won 🤷🏻‍♀️ I was having a difficult time figuring out how to move forward, I was even worried I had them go too fast but as I re-read everything I realized that everything I've written has had a purpose and I'm feeling much better about my story so please enjoy this chapter 💜)

(y/n)'s POV
"You know, you've been wearing your hair down a lot this past week and I have to say, I am loving it." Adam complimented me as we walked down the hallway together, little did he know I was just trying to cover the hickeys that I currently had. Poor guy.

"Thanks Adam." I smiled up at him. He insisted on walking me to the hangar where I have several wrecked TIE-Fighters to fix by Admiral Tarkins request. I swear these Imps and Rebels are gonna keep me employed for a long time, there's always something to fix.

We reached the door to the Hangar and Adam hugged me goodbye before we parted ways. He's been working on a new weapon lately, he said it's going to become the greatest weapon in the war. It makes me a little nervous, I wonder what kind of mass destruction his designs are going to be causing.

I pressed the button on the keypad so the door slid open and I was greeted by Captain Landon. Great, I internally rolled my eyes. I hate almost every Captain here except for Piett, they are all just so unnecessarily rude, "There you are." He sighed in annoyance as he stepped up to me and shoved a small beat up droid into my grasp, "I need you to fix this as soon as possible."

Like I said, rude.

I nodded as I looked down at the droid, "Okay but it'll have to wait till I'm done with those." I gestured to the fighters behind him.

He narrowed his eyes at me with clear irritation in his features, "This is a simple droid, it won't take as long as those."

"You're right it won't. But I have orders from Tarkin to fix those before anything else, so I'm sorry but you'll have to wait or you can go to a different mechanic." I swear everyone thinks I'm the only one here. And fixing it really wouldn't take long, but the last time I placed a task ahead of what Tarkin assigned me, I received a strong verbal warning. Plus this guy was being a bit of a dick, as usual, so I didn't really want to help him.

He stepped up to me threateningly, "I am your superior, I can have you kicked out of this place in five minutes,"He snapped at me. Although I didn't feel worried in the slightest over his threat, he was clearly overestimating his authority, "Fix the damn droid, I won't ask again!"

I have never seen anyone get so worked up over a droid before, except Captain Oldin. May he Rest In Peace..

"Look sir. I already told you what my orders are, but if you would like take up your threat and 'kick me out' then you'll have to take it up with Tarkin or Lord Vader." I shrugged as I walked past him to my work station and I set the droid down gently so it wouldn't completely fall apart.

He scoffed at my comment, "I just might, you can easily be replaced and I know Lord Vader doesn't take kindly to bitches who talk back to their superiors," He smirked and I raised my eyebrows at his 'bitches' comment, "You'll be lucky if you're not on the receiving end of his choke hold."

Oh I sure as hell hope I am.

He began to walk away, towards the exit of the Hangar, "Where are you going? I thought we were having a nice chat?" I responded sarcastically with a smile.
