HURTFUL

November had rolled around and it was growing colder by the day.

The house of Gryffindor was still buzzing with ecstasy, still riding the high of their quidditch win.

"Oh Elysia, my darling!" Fred skipped over to me, swinging an arm around my waist and twirling me around. A squeal escaped my lips.

"Freddie!" I laughed as he placed my feet properly on the ground. "What's going on?"

"Would you care to join me on an adventure?"

My eyebrows raised in intrigue. What could Fred Weasley possibly be up to now? "An adventure? Do tell, Freddie."

"That would ruin the spontaneity, darling." Fred grinned down at me before taking my hand and pulling me along with him. We ran down the hallways, laughing as others stared at us in confusion.

"Fred-where are we-"

Fred didn't give me a moment to question what was going on. He just kept dragging me along with him. He led me up the astronomy tower. This time of night, you could see each star twinkling in the sky.

"What are we doing up here?" I exasperated.

Fred let me to the edge where we looked out at the courtyard.

"Just-wait for it."

Fred pulled out his wand, pointing it at the sky and muttering a Purple Firecracker spell. Fireworks burst through the dark night, fiery blooms amongst the stars. The sky lit with wonderful colour, vivid hues lighting the otherwise black sky. It was stunning.

I peered over the ledge to see George laughing in the courtyard. He pointed a finger at Fred, the two of them grinning at each other.

"You fools!" I laughed hysterically. "Have you nothing better to do?"

Fred shrugged lightly. "I'm afraid not, actually."

I leaned into Fred's side as we watched the fireworks still flourishing in the sky.

"Oh-you Weasleys!"

Professor McGonagall's shrieking voice could be heard from all the way up here in the astronomy tower. I could faintly see George's eyes widened as he bolted away from McGonagall.

Fred's eyes turned into saucers as he looked at me. At the same time, McGonagall glanced up at the tower, her sixth sense telling her exactly where the other twin was.

"Shit."

"Freddie, you're in big trouble."

Fred backed away from the ledge as to disappear from McGonagall's sight. "Sorry, Elysia. I must vanish, right now." Fred raced out of the astronomy tower, rushing down the stairs before McGonagall could find him.
