The winter air held a delicate prick; cold seeping through the fabric of our clothes to make teeth chatter when we stepped off the train and onto the platform. Fresh pine and cedar scents in the air; the pace of living was bustling and full of excited nerves as students reunited with their families.

My fingers were intertwined through Draco's; he gripped my hand tightly. Draco was as nervous as I had ever seen him-admittedly, a heartening sight. His skin glistened with a thin layer of sweat-despite the frosty breeze, his skittish nerves couldn't be tamed with any amount of cold air.

His eyes frantically glanced around the platform as he tried to spot my parents from miles away-as if seeing them sooner, further away, would allow him to better prepare himself. Evidently, the nine-hour train ride was not merely enough for him to gather his nerves.

I leaned into his side, going on my tippy-toes to speak quietly in his ear. "Love, there is nothing to worry about. My parents will love you. I'm sure of it."

Draco glanced down at me. He failed his attempt to shield his expression. "I'm not worried."

My eyebrows raised. "You look a little worried, Draco."

He rolled his eyes at the accusation. "I-I'm not. Of course not. Why would I be?"

I laughed quietly, squeezing his hand. I could see right through him and despite his attempts to conceal the jitters, he was transparent as ever. Nearly trembling. I stepped in front of him, turning my body to face his. He was forced to look me in the eye.

"Hey, just be yourself, yeah?" I cupped one side of his face-the touch relaxing his features somewhat. He exhaled slowly. "They will see everything and more that I see in you and love you for it, the same way I do."

Draco cracked a strained smile. Closing his eyes, he leaned his forehead down on me. "This is pathetic," he mumbled quietly. "I don't get nervous, Ambrose. That's not exactly my thing."

I laughed breathily. Through the cold prick of the winter air, Draco's breath was warm against my skin. "I think it makes you all the more charming, really."

Draco scoffed as he lifted his head, peering down at me. "It's pitiful."

"Stay soft," I nudged him before turning to stand beside him, my eyes scanning the platform. "It looks beautiful on you."
