Hoony attacked first, dashing forward with his two blades.

"Why isn't she dodging? Oh no! I'm gonna hit her face! Why did I aim for her face? She's so beautiful. SORRY!!!", thought Hoony as he slashed diagonally towards Dara's face.

His shortsword passed through the illusion. And as the figure of Madame Dara vanished, Hoony turned around immediately to figure out what's going on.

But there was nobody there.

"You can't rush my mother like that.", said Rose, who appeared beside him.

"Where did she go?", asked Hoony.

Rose pointed at Dara, who was standing at the spot where she just was.

"I'll draw her attention so you can do what you do best. Get behind me, for now.", said Hoony.

Even after training together for five days, Hoony had no idea how strong Rose really was. He only knew a few things.

Rose, or Madame Roseanne, was the owner of the Broken Bull.

She was the best entertainer and the most sought-after courtesan in Almiana.

And she had a special relationship with Prince Lee.

Hoony also knew that Madame Roseanne learned how to fight from that group that he overheard them talking about once. Teddy bidet or something.

"Hoony! That's not me! Run!", shouted Dara from afar as she ran towards the two. Except her voice was the same as Rose.

"Huh? That's Madame Roseanne's voice... Oh no...", Hoony's eyes widened as he felt something around his neck.

It was cold and thin. And it was quickly tightening around Hoony's throat.

"Don't move, child. Unless you  wish to lose your head.", whispered the person behind Hoony to his left ear.

She was using Rose's voice at the beginning, but it slowly changed to Dara's. Dara pulled on the garrote wire a little, causing Hoony to panic and drop his weapons.

"Please don't kill me. Please don't kill me.", said Hoony as he tried to stick his fingers under the wire. But it was already too tight. He tried to elbow behind him, but he missed, and the wire tightened some more.

"Stay still. I don't want to see you bleed. I just want to see how my daughter will react.", whispered Dara again.

Hoony looked at Rose, who stopped about fifteen feet from him. Rose's eyes were looking at him, above and around him.

"What is it? What's going on? Oh god...", asked Hoony who couldn't move his head.

"Your friend did a wonderful job hiding those knives in my dress. And yes, daughter, I could use Telekinesis, too.", replied Dara as she controlled the many knives from her dress and pointed a few of them at Hoony.

The rest, she sent flying towards Rose.

The way her mother said friend made Rose a little nervous. But she didn't let it break her focus as she dodged the flying knives and tried to close the distance.

"You okay, Hoony?", asked Rose without looking at him.

"Not really, but don't worry. I got this.", answered Hoony.
