Wishful Thinking - 5/29/21

Well, it's been almost half a year since I wrote in here, however, I did write a book during that time period, so that's something!  My hope is to post here more regularly to keep everyone up to date on the status of various projects, partly because doing that keeps me on the ball with my schedule as well.

Anyway, I currently am trudging through life with barely one eye open.  I have little to no energy right now and am prone to napping at any given time of the day.  No amount of sleep or caffeine seems to keep me awake, but I'm pretty confident that the issue is due to my stress levels.  I probably hit maximum capacity sometime last year and now I'm purely in survival mode.

I love my son with all my heart, but we've been together practically nonstop since the pandemic hit and he has stolen all of my energy.  Thankfully, he will be going to summer camp during the day starting mid June and so just getting the ability to work without interruption and enjoy a couple hours each day to myself should help me recharge and reduce the stress that has chosen to manifest in lots of delightful ways (like gaining oh so so much weight!)

So far my son seems excited about going to summer camp, which is a big relief because, despite his extroverted nature, he is like me where he takes awhile to warm up to new people and places.  So I've been nervous about having to spend the first week or so dropping off a crying kid which just brings its own kind of stress.

With all that said, with Delilah Cross and the Blood Moon complete, I will be taking the time between now and when my son starts summer camp to rest, relax, and do some organization.  The current plan is to return to posting The Vampire's Harvest over the summer. I'm looking to post that several times a week since it is already written, it just needs editing to work as an interactive novel on here.

I'll also be editing Falling for a Memory over the summer, as it is one of several books that have sat on the back burner due to COVID and my need to just write something instead of edit.  I'll also be slowly refreshing covers and adding a bit more flair to them.  More on that in a later post.

Anyway, that's all for today.  I have Memorial Day off, not just from work, but my husband is also taking our son over to my in-laws so it will just be me, myself, and I that day.  Might do some work updating my site since it is very, very, very outdated.

Hope you all have a great weekend and hopefully I'll have another post up soon!
