So after this post, I'll be bouncing right over to Wedding Mrs. Claus to post the final chapter of Act 1.  I wanted to say a few things to commemorate this moment.

1) Getting back into writing is hard...  Like somehow I did this two years ago while still being a stay at home mom and now I get to write full time and I'm struggling.  How is that even possible 😩  That being said, I think I'm starting to get back into the swing of things, I did take a year off to edit so my writing muscles aren't up to speed.  Also I think part of it was simply the tone and pacing for this act, which leads me to...

2) This first act was a struggle because it was very introspective.  Charlie did a lot of work on herself in this first act and as such things were a bit slow, a bit serious.  I spent a lot of time wondering if I was heading in the right direction, but I knew that this part of the story needed to be told and when I reflected on what exactly was being said in this first act, the tone and pacing felt right for that.  In the end I realized that this act was really about...

3) This first act was about embodying Charlie's struggle.  She's alone, she's conflicted, and she feels like she's lost control.  I'm hoping the tone and pacing conveys that.  Now that Charlie knows what's happening to her, has a friend who's in on her troubles, and will soon be positively surrounded by people and drama, the story is shifting to what Charlie is going to do with this new information.  I don't know if this will work as a whole.  I didn't really plan for it to go this way, but that's how the story wanted to be told and so there it is.

Anyway, for anyone following along with my posts to Wedding Mrs. Claus, I hope you have enjoyed the first act.  I can't say for certain, because it's not written yet, but I think the look and feel of the remainder of the book will more closely resemble Finding Mrs. Claus.  But, you know, I guess sequels aren't supposed to be identical copies of their predecessors so this book will simply do what it needs to do.

As for Act 2, I don't have the entire thing outlined, but I've got the first few chapters done and I'm really excited by some of the new and returning characters that will be popping in now that the show will be getting underway.  Hopefully there's some mischievous fun just around the corner.

Side note: Anyone else have snow today?  I love the first snowfall of the season!  I'm so excited to see white fluffy stuff falling from the sky 😊  Though my husband, who is my polar opposite when it comes to weather, is rather miserable.
