calum
- off the ice, cal is the typical quiet brood and kinda soft looking with his squishy cheeks and fluffy hair
- but on the ice, my GOSH
- especially if anyone were to target his boys (most especially captain!ashton)
- and he'd be a lot more vocal on the ice too
- so like trash talk is fair game
- even though Michael insists he's the #1 chirper on the team
- but the two of them together on the same line?
- WHEW
- cal and mikey would be complete shits to an opposing team
- because they'd play off of each other
- like after sending a particular player hard into the boards
- (probably one who was blantantly charging ash or Luke)
- these two would definitely skate up to them and rub salt to the wound
- "ain't too chuffed now, are ya mate?" "he never was to begin with, mike."
- i think cal would also be in contention for assistant captain
- again his protectiveness as a defenceman (and for his boys) would obviously transcend to the entire team
- if this were a highschool!hockey/college!hockey sort of deal, I can imagine lil freshmen just being in awe of the man
- like how can someone so soft looking
- be such a BEAST when playing the sport
- but let's be real, cal would put in the WORK
- like first one at the rink/last one to leave every practice
- he'd also make use of his walks with duke as a form of light daily cardio
- UGH imagine him bringing duke onto the ice during a casual skate

luke
- he's an ethereal lookin boi off and on the ice with his beautiful flow of curly blond hair and baby blues that you could just drown in
- but that's how he gets ya
- like Luke is already TALL™️
- so on skates??? a literal GIANT
- he'll mess you up if he really wanted to
- (though usually he won't)
- and usually cal or mike have things covered before he'd need to do anything anyways
- as for his position if mikey was like ash's winger (maybe his left????), luke would be his right
- and then we'd have Cal in the back on defense
- technically with another defensemen because there's 5 in a line not including the goalie but they don't matter right now compared to the boys
- wowie is this line ever spectacular to watch
- especially since Luke would probably be really show-y when he skates
- what I mean by that is he's really beautiful when you watch him skate on the ice
- like how he sings, he just seems to command attention in everything he does
- maybe before getting into hockey he was actually into figure skating
- men's figure skating costumes can like GET IT
- and that's why Luke owns one too many glittery/shiny/colourful/blousy tops

ashton
- ash would be the captain hands down
- he's the oldest of the bunch and already plays the role of big bro
- and daddy
- and to really stick it to a trope
- he'd most definitely be a forward
- a center too
- his face-off percentage would be through the ROOF
- because he gets so hyper focused and hyper aware
- it's like he has a constant radar for wear the puck is on the ice at all times
- and the ability to always know who of his team he should be passing to
- but this sort of intuition would be his blessing and his curse
- because let's also face the fact
- ashton in such a feeler
- he'd get into his head A LOT
- and will always worry about whether or not he's doing enough
- or being enough for his team
- but don't fret
- his best buds calum, michael and luke are always there to get him outta that funk
- because if it wasn't already clear
- these boys would all be playing on the same line
- their chemistry too good to have them split apart
- so the boys can tell when something's off
- especially since ashton is usually the one talking care of/looking out for them so
- off the ice, Ashton would absolutely be the kind of captain that would throw celebratory after parties
- and then force people to stay over if they've drank too much
- but don't let the after party persona fool you
- he's still very much so serious when it comes to conditioning the team to be the best they can be
- but like no pain, no gain would be his motto
- and I am so SOFT for tough love captain ash

michael
- he'd be THAT guy on the ice with a smug smirk and a mouth too quick to chirp the opposing team
- because of that, I'd like to imagine him as a winger
while ash is taking the face-off
- michael would be doing his darnest to distract the other team's center
- he'd be the most hated player for all other teams because of it
- but like Mike's not all talk
- he can check boys into the boards as hard as the rest of 'em because let's face it as much as he can dish it he hates to get it back
- he's a bit of a short fuse
- but he'll always have the boys' backs
1 off-the-ice michael is a real fun-loving dude
- a constant grin on his face that's real mischievous
if this were a highschool!hockey sorta deal
- he'd be the mastermind behind all the trickery in a prank war with other sports teams of the school/rival schools
- he'd also be the one to come up with initiation stints for freshman players of the team
- just like with playoff beards or flow, mike would hands down base their success on what colour his hair was during a particular win streak
- HECK he'd be the reason why the whole team ends up dying their hair some unnatural colour when they make it into nationals or something
