Song:
Tainted Love (Soft Cell)
"Once I ran to you. Now, I'll run from you."

"Want one for the nerves?" Remus proposed, sticking out the packet of cigarettes he had in his pocket. James eyed the small box with annoyance, before he smacked Remus' head.

"No!" He stated, returning back to tying his shoelaces. "We're better than them and I like my lungs healthy. Nasty habit you have all picked up."

"S'the 70s." Peter chuckled, shaking his head. "And he's heartbroken, Prongs. It's either that or booze."

"What happened to talking, aye?"

"Lupin ain't that good at talking." Sirius scoffed, shooting him a dirty look. "Trying to convince us you're over her while smoking her cigarettes is offensive by the way."

"Could be booze."

"None of that changes the fact that you're losing her." Sirius pointed out for what seemed to be the hundredth time. "Callisto doesn't care whether you're a werewolf or a pixie or a goddamn troll."

Peter nodded, "She did tolerate you being British after all..."

"You don't understand, so drop it." Remus hissed, anger in his voice. It didn't matter whether she would care or not. He could put her in so much danger just by being with her, and he couldn't bear it. He had seen the boys trying to cover up scratches and bruises from the full moon and they were relatively safe in animal form. If Callisto ever made the mistake of going outside during a full moon, he'd probably tear her apart.

"Remus-"

"No, I'm done talking about this!"

He wouldn't have to talk about it for much longer. After all, the match was about to begin.

"It's here." Nicholas mumbled, as an owl flew over to him, the plum folder tied on its leg. It seemed as if the world had gone still for a minute as the folder landed on Nicholas' lap, the small birthday cake in front of him and the gifts Callisto and Antonia had gotten him long forgotten. He opened it with shaky hands, Callisto's hand gripping his shoulder tightly.

"Bloody hell, Lawson! Open the damn letter."

"I'm trying!" He hissed, scratching at the wax seal maniacally. The thin, golden layer of wax finally got peeled off and Nicholas hastily opened the letter, pulling out a thick piece of parchment. His eyes skimmed over the contents of the letter, but he seemed to be unable to understand what he was reading, until he repeated everything in his head for the fifth time.

It was when Callisto let out a laugh of relief that he realized that everything had gone according to plan.

It was simply glorious.
