Raven has suffered a head injury to which she has been in the medbay for over a day and hasn't woken yet.
"Any changes?" Dick walks in with a cup of coffee
"No. All we can do is wait and trust she will pull through." Kory worried
"She will. I'll accept nothing less." Dick not allowing his emotions to pull him down.
"He needs to get some sleep." Kory mentions referring to Gar
Dick nods. "Gar!" He raises his voice to wake him.
"Rachel!" Gar jumps
"Sorry, Gar. But you need rest. Go rest. We'll tell you if anything changes" Kory reassures him
"I..can't." Gar not wanting to leave
"Gar. I need you to rest. Because I'll need you to help us find who is responsible for this. You do want justice for her don't you?" Dick straitens him out
"Of course, I do." Gar kisses Rachel's forehead and leaves
Once Gar lies down, his mind wanders to dreaming.
He sees the team enjoying a relaxing day at the park and things get fuzzy til he notices Rachel amongst the crowd smiling. Her smile is beautiful. She may not do it as much as he does but the world stops when she does. Then he immediately hears a raven and looks up and looks back down and sees no one there which scares him. He calls out for them but no answer and he immediately wakes up from the vision like dream he had.
He sees it's night, and checks his phone and sees it's 11pm. "I slept for five hours." He runs his neck
He goes to grab some coffee and checks on Rachel and sees dick watching over her
"Anything?" Gar asks sitting down
"No.."
They both sit quietly and watch her.
"I'm going to.. get some rest" Dick waking away
"Dick.." Gar calls him out before walking away completely "She's going to be okay." Gar comforting dick knowing he's worried too even if he doesn't try to show it
He nods and walks away
Moments go by and he reads to her a book. As he closes it he takes her hand in his.
"I've been thinking about how when we first met..You were so beautiful. So complicated. Introverted. Everything you still are.. only now.. you allow me to be close to you."
He stands up and paces. "You didn't like my jokes. You thought I was loud, and wanted to be loved too much.. and maybe you're right. I wanted to find what it was I lost.. but I think.. maybe all I need is one person" he leans down to move her hair behind her ear. "You're that person, Rae. Please come back to me.. " he kisses her forehead and sits back down waiting for her to wake again.
