It's been a year now. Rachel is going to go home for holidays and Gar has fully felt he's accomplished much in the red.
"I'm gonna miss you!" Lilly hugged Rachel from behind
"I'll miss you too."
"So, I'll see you in a week or so?" Lilly gathering coat
"See you then" Rachel packing her bags and headed to the airport
Dick and Kory have their own home. They own a boxer and have a surprise for the others when they arrive.
Connor, Tim, benard and Gar met up and traveled together. Gar driving l, Connor in the passenger, and Tim and benard in the back
"You nervous?" Conner asks
"About what?"
"Seeing everyone again.. and Rachel."
"Isn't Rachel everyone?" He asks confused
"For the rest of us, yea."
Gar sighs. "There's nothing between us. We're friends. Family."
"So are Dick and Kory." Conner points out
Gar claps his head back "You know I don't think the music is loud enough." He turns up the volume
Connor rolls his eyes
Rachel arrives before the others and she brought a guest.
*doorbell* "Rachel's here!" Kory excitedly takes off her mittens and heads to the door with Dick who is also trying to hide how excited he is
"Oh um.. another thing.. She brought a friend. So be nice." Kory adds quickly before getting the door leaving dick feeling confused and curious
"Hi!" Kory and Rachel both shriek and hug.
"Oh my gosh. I missed you so much." Kory says while still hugging
"You seen me like a month ago for my birthday remember?" Rachel added
"Do you know how long that is?" Kory jokes
"Hey, kiddo." He hugs her. "I seen you brought home a stray" he mutters
"Be nice" Rachel mutters and playfully hits him
"Guys, this is Roman. His family doesn't celebrate Christmas so I hope it's cool I brought him with me."
"Don't be silly. Come in." Kory assure
Roman shakes both of their hands.
"Roman if you'd like dick can show you around while Rachel and I go the kitchen make some hot cocoa." Kory says while taking Rachel's hand
Roman feeling a little nervous but goes with the flow.
"So.. he's cute!" Kory says giggling
"I know!" Rachel blushes
"So are you two-"
"No! I mean I think he likes me but I don't know." Rachel hesitates. "I'm sure after dick is done he'll never want to see me again"
"Oh he's just looking out for you. He knows you're grown and going to meet new people." Kory assured.
"So, how old are you?" Dick asks
"I'll be 21 in January." He responds
"You know Rachel is barely 18 right?"
"Well, it's not a huge age gap. Plus I didn't try to do anything before then anyway."
Those words set dick off inside but he didn't want to anger Rachel so he just chilled out.
"So, do you have any plans for the future?"
"Not really. Might take a few years off after collage before getting into anything."
Dick doesn't even know how to reply and then the doorbell rings. He puts his glass down and goes to open it.
Tim, and Gar greet dick in excitement
"It's good seeing you guys too." Dick laughs. "Where's Connor?"
"Him and benard are getting the bags." Tim informs
"Pretty sure Connor had it, but benard takes his equipment transfers very seriously." Gar adds
"Hey guys!" Kory runs for a hug as Connor and benard walk through as well
"Hi, strangers." Rachel also walks through
As everyone gets acquainted again, Rachel goes to the room with Roman so they can introduce one another
Dick follows Kory in the kitchen to prepare.
"Please tell me she's not actually serious with that kid." Dick complains
"Why?"
"Because he doesn't have a future. Dull."
"And not Gar?" She points
"It's not like that."
"Or maybe you are scared to trust Rachel with someone you don't know?"
"Yea especially when he plans on spending the new few years on his moms couch." Dick carrying the dishes to the kitchen table.
Kory left confused what that was about
Connor and Tim talking to Roman getting to know each other.
"You should definitely enroll. You'd kill at tryouts." Roman encouraging Conner
"Yea.. he actually would kill.. he kind of can't help it" Tim informing and Conner shrugging
"Well, everyone seems to like your boyfriend.." Gar walking up to Raven.
"He's not my boyfriend. We're just friends"
"Ah.."
"Dinner is ready everyone." Kory informs
They all sit at the table. Kory And Dick at the ends, benard, Tim and Gar on one side and Gar, Rachel and Roman on the other
"This looks amazing, Kory thank you." Gar stated as everyone else thanked her
"Believe it or not, Dick helped a little." Kory laughs
"Well, those potatoes won't stir themselves." He laughs
"So, Gar. How are things with the red?" Kory asks
"Honestly I feel it's time I can move on. I've learned a lot but I kinda miss the outside world."
"I'm glad to hear that. Do you know where you wanna go next or what you want to do?" Dick asks
"Uhh." Gar mumbles as Rachel is eager to know but knows she shouldn't care "I guess I'm gonna take it one day at a time.. but I know I want to help people. I just don't know how yet."
"You'll find it. I know you will" Kory supports him.
"What I wanna know is how bad are you failing your exams rach?" Tim mocks
"I'm actually not bad at all." He smirks
"It's true. She is still tutoring me" Roman adds
"See?" She winks
After dinner everyone goes to bed. Expect for dick. He decides to go to his study room and look into Roman. He knows he's just a kid but he doesn't like him.
"What are you doing?" Kory coming in
"Just looking at some resorts. I was thinking you and I could-" dick tries to use an excuse
"Save it. You're doing it aren't you? Looking into his whole history."
"I'm only doing it for Rachel. Turns out he's clean anyway.. just dull." They both laugh and head to bed
